Id try the Germs out, but most likely I'd be a Ruskie. I like anything Marine, so if they added a Russian Marine skin, count me in.

The Germans will start off with no capped flags and will have to make a push for the city quickly to stop the ticket bleeding. The way I see it, the Soviets won't have an uncappable base (like the Americans in Battle of the Bulge and the British in Crete), so there won't be an "base" camping.

Also, there wouldn't be a point in bombing and bombing if there are no infantry and tanks rolling in to cap flags. The battle will be won or lost in the city, with the Germans having an advantage with aerial and artillery support and the Soviets having the home field and positioning.

The way I see it, people play as the British on Crete. Those same people would be playing as the Soviets in this map. This map idea has great potential and has room for lots of new features which would make it fun for both sides IMO.

Soviet AA guns for taking out those bombers would fit well in this and other maps.

Here's a German site all about Soviet World War II AA guns, trucks, and armor. It has some pretty cool pics. http://home.tiscali.de/frr11wfs/Flak1_1.htm

At the seige of Sevastopol the Germans used one of their biggest heavy artillery, the 35.5 cm Haubitze M1. That is the kind of artillery the soviets would face. It could fire 575kg HE shells and 926kg concrete busting shells. RoF though was one shell every four minutes. Still..it was very destructive.

The 800mm "Dora" railway gun was the biggest artillery gun used during the entire war and was used during the Battle of Sevastopol. It fired at a rate of 14 rounds a day and a total of 47 rounds were fired during the battle, mostly at the huge Gorki bunkers which protected the city. This is what I had in mind for the recon plane calling arty strikes. }>

You forgot one thing. This was the largest gun EVER BUILD DURING HUMAN HISTORY! They used it to hit underground ammo bunkers. I think ive posted pics of this gun b4. Why do people call it the Dora anyway as far as i know its called the Gustav.
