Bomb physics

I wa noticing how if you drop bombs at the wrong angle often they'll just kill you(all pilots have had this happen) so that only level bombing or pure dive bombing will work. The reason it's like this is because the bomb is dropped and the moment it leaves it's physics aren't affected by climbing or diving, just speed and gravity(At least it seems like this). Is there any way for the FH team to remedy this problem?

Killor is right. I died a thousend times by pushing the stick down after I released the bomb.

Well knowing you're gonna blow and still keep repeating it is like st***d , lol.

Don't know if you have the expression in English but we say :

"A mule never hits the same rock twice"

True, and if you are not dive bombing, but supporting ground forces on a low altitude.......you can easily get hit by your own bomb sometimes.

There are also occasions, when you have to dive quickly after you released the bomb.

Re: Bomb physics

yeah, it's a physics problem with the BF engine. I mentioned this TONS of times as I believe it to be totally inaccurate physically speaking. See, if you're pushing the stick down AS your dropping the bomb, you'll impart that particular flight path to the bomb itself and it shouldn't hit you.

Even if the bomb did hit you, most bombs had timed fuses so that they'd only arm after they'd clear the plane. This is why you get dud bombs lying around in French pastures.

And aside from all of THAT, you'd be unlikely to be able to actually hit your own bomb by maneuvering that quickly anyway, because the bomb has less wind resistance than your big-ass plane, so it would've dropped away and cleared your plane body by then. It's a bug and it's just part of DICE's crappy coding that they've never bothered to fix because some jackass decided to say it's "realistic". Right. Because oh-so-much of the REST of BF1942 is realistic.

it may be more aerodynamic then a plane, but the planes got big ass propellers on the front more then compensating.

bomb explose when you hit with plane - yes . :uhm:

True, but you're not going to be able to correct your course fast enough to intercept the bomb most likely. And even if you did, the thing wouldn't be armed. It'd just bounce off the undercarriage of the plane. It's a bug with DICE's engine, basically, ESPECIALLY the way they implemented it. I've played a bunch of flight sims since Chuck Yeager's Air Combat (if you can call that a flight sim) and I can't remember one that I played where you could actually run into your own bombs in mid air. You could be hurt by the explosion if you dropped 'em too LOW, but that's different and that's already implemented in DICE's engine (which is a good thing).

But if bomb actif in bombardier (the plane) then if they fall inside they blown up! So this in real life possible event. Bomb it's like a torpede - you actif the bomb and then it can explose anytime even if falling inside plane.

I only bombed my self a couple of times when I started flying in bf... Now, It's almost impossible to bomb myself, even in the middle of a dog fight.. Just learn to fly properly, not like a noob.
