Ive just read about the changes to the infantry kills.
Does this change the one shot with a rifle kills? This i felt was one of the best features of the game, one shot kill. In a game without medics, being killed with one shot is simply means that you are no longer able to fight. Sure it might not have killed you in real life, but you wouldnt be able to keep fighting at that moment, so thus the game kills you.
Tell me that this hasnt chaged one of the best reasons to be infantry in this mod.
less accurate on the move (damn well better)
SLIGHLY less accurate overall (no more hitting guys in the eye 500000 yards away while theyr bunnyhopping)
longer cycling time
damage reduced in arms/legs (probly 2 hit kill)
There is a bug right now where its prety much 1 hit kill no matter where you hit them, be it pinky finger or ear.
Dont worry, theyr will still be plenty of one hit rifle kills.
Yes we're toning it down a bit with the accuracy. It's still one shot kill though. Think "AWP" for CS. One shot kill to body and 2 to limbs. Accuracy on the semi auto rifles is also being tone down along with their zoom.
I urge you not to turn the accuracy on the semi-auto weapons down below the capabilities of the bolt-action rifles. The SVT may have suffered from some early quality-control problems like all advanced equipment, but the G43 and Garand are not, I repeat are not any less accurate under most conditions than a bolt-action battle rifle. To make them less accurate is to spit in the face of realism.
Ah but we're not going to make them less accurate than the bolt actions....
We're going to make them less accurate ALONG with the bolt actions. Get it? Also their zoom is way too much. Lowering their zoom by half isn't unrealistic because there is no such thing as zoom in real life.
Yeah, I think the zoom we BF has is to simulate (as you say) concentration on a single point - ie focus is better, hence making the resolution of that point higher in effect - pity none can think of a better way of simulating it...

Some better way would be to use the MC crosshairs as used in some maps on some vehicules.
Now you have the Vanilla crosshair obstructing your view in long range engagements.
Meaning you can see the target when the crosshair is not on it but when you lay the crosshair on target it's getting obstructed.
Zooming in just makes the crosshair appear smaller related to the target.
So just adjusting the crosshairs would be a solution I think.
I really loved the first MC editions for Vanilla were you were able to choose the crosshair you liked , too bad cheaters forced DICE to apply those enoying patches.
Anyway, two hits to arms/legs OR single hit to torso/head as a kill sounds a good compromise to me..
Question: For the two hit arm/leg scenario, does it set a flag - as in "I was hit once 5 minutes ago in the arm, now one hit to an arm kills me" - or is there some sort of 'time limit' between 'half-kills' ?
no
its like 100dmg to the body and head
and like 80 to leg and arms
assume you have 100 hps.
"Ask them, US and Brits didn’t do squat in WW2, it was won by the Soviet all by themselves versus the entire Germans Army and they did it while standing on one leg and with a arm tied behind their back. Western Europe, North Africa, Italy were all side shows" -unknown poster
