| Since Rad and all the guys are in this thread right now, how good is my Q6600 vs. others. It's a model F stepping B revision G0. Is that the best? |

| Yes, G0 is what you want. And while Q6600 is not the best CPU, it is a great one and the best value, IMO. |

| Well that's why I bought it and not a QX9750 or whatever the hell is at the top because I need the price to performance ratio to be good. I mean the Q6700 is >500$ and if you look at it on most tests, it's only a second or miliseconds faster than the Q6600! Anyways thanks for the answer since the rest of the people viewing this seem to have scattered. |

| I don't think anyone here has over a Q6600. I just bought 4 of them (1 on the way) for the price of a single extreme. I have them overclocked at 2.8ghz, 3.1ghz, and 3.4ghz. stable. The 3.1ghz one is on water, and will do 3.6 I'm sure after I play with the voltages this weekend. For comparison, using Points per day: Q6600 @ 3.4ghz = 4300ppd Q6600 @ 3.1ghz = 3900ppd Q6600 @ 2.8ghz = 3550ppd Playstation 3 = ~900ppd ATi X1950pro = ~600ppd P4 3.4ghz = ~150ppd The Q6600 is just an incredible value and the best for folding right now. The hard core folders always refer to the "3-P's"... Price, Performance and Power. The nice thing about the Quad is is you are folding like it's 2 duo cores, but it's in one machine that is only using the same amount of electricity as a single duo core. Can't be beat. |

| The Yorkfield Core will be on the market in a few weeks. At least that is what the local hardware pusher tells me. So far I only found a few MBīs that support them, though. ![]() Anyway, they look awesome, and I really like the performance/price of the Q9450.

What's strange is the Harpertown 45mn/12mb cache xeons have been out as long as the Yorkfields... I don't know what's holding up the Penryn |

| I read something about Intel holding them back, because it would hurt the sale of the "old" quadcore, and that AMD had some trouble with their new CPU. Dont know if all of this is true ?
