Plus we are under 3000th place so we are now being tracked by Extreme Overclockers stats.

Forgotten Hope Community - EXTREME Overclocking Folding@Home Stats

It will take a little while for the stats to start showing up. Individual stats will start when we get to top 1300 teams.

I'd also like to say welcome to a few new folders that showed up recently...

I'm a little late to the party. But I have a PS3 and a fairly high-end AMD rig at home doing jack all day. I'll see if I can get them up and running tonight or tomorrow.

Top 100 might be awhile... heh, the 100th place team has 16.5 million points and I don't think any will be slowing down to let us catch up. I'd be happy with top 1000 just to get the cool tracking from some of the stats sites. I'm still waiting for a dual SMP quad core member to join and humble us all.

Careful of buying an ati for folding. if you stick it in a machine you are doing CPU folding on the same machine it will slow your CPU client down considerably. This isn't a big deal if it's an old P4 running 150-200 PPD, but if you have an SMP client running at about 1500-1700 PPD, then slowing that down with a GPU that only is good for about 550-650 PPD isn't a good idea.

Also the GPU client still only supports X1800, X1900 and X1950 cards which are kinda yesterday's news. Best use of the GPU client is to make an old hyperthreaded AGP computer pump out some points. You can get an AGP X1950pro for about $150 and turn an old tired box into a producer... 330 points every 12 to 14 hours.

I had good intentions of installing the beta f@h for 64 bit Linux. I was hoping I might churn out some extra points that way.

So I just finished taking a shot at installing it on my little used Ubuntu install. Yeah. Linux can bite me. Sorry, sudo Linux can bite me. I don't care who here is in Torvalds Army. I have better things to do than figure that command line crap out.

Yeah, I have a dedicated Q6600 on it's way from newegg... I was going to install ubunto 64bit on a partition to see how it performed but I'm a Linux noob. Now I'm not sure I want to waste the time. A russian folder wrote an affinity changing program that is working really well for windows quad core users, so I might just stick with that. Most claim running the program makes folding as fast in windows as with VMware/Linux. I'm not sure how it compares to straight linux installs tho.
