icon_question smp client

Ok I am a tad confused on the smp client. I have searched best I can and even looked in the folder but to no avail. When I terminate the client how in the world do you keep it from starting up a new job instead of finishing up the project you were last working on?

I cant find squat on the main website explaining the workings of the smp client. Its like being placed inside a plane and told to fly it. Would be nice if the folks who wrote that thing didnt automatically assume everyone could read their mind. I would like to shut my computer down every now and then but at the moment I hate wasting any time put into a job. Any help would be appreciated and/or a pointer to a website that actually explained it.

It should be able to pick up the current WU at the point where it was shot down. I have terminated the SMP client a few times, and it doesnt start up a new job when it is restarted.
I dont know if it will help, but try and reinstall it ?

Actually I already reinstalled before having sorta the same issue but figuring I had just goofed. Now having just checked I just noticed that not only did it load a new job it also logged me in under the username anonymous. great. Ok let me ask another question. What is the proper way to terminate the client? The client as I see it looks like a dos prompt dialoge box and the only things i can do is minimize it or close it out by pressing the 'x' button in the upper corner.

It looks the same here, and I terminate on the "x" button.
When I restart it, I run the "fah" file...

Are you running the whole installation file when you restart it? This could probably be why you are anonymous.

To terminate the client properly press Ctrl+C

To restart the client just click on the fah.exe (better to make a shortcut tho) and it should start where it left off.

To change your config, you need to make a shortcut on your desktop then you need to add a flag to your shortcut. In the "Taget:" line it should have the flag -config at the end of the line. Remove the flag after you have configured your client or it will launch in config mode each time you restart it.
