I actually bought a PS3 last night and F@H is in the system menu, weird that you posted this the same day. I wont be able to do a whole lot as I turn my computer equipment off when I know I wont be using it and I don't keep the PS3 hooked online all the time either, long story... apartments... wires... different rooms...
I'll let you know the release date as soon as I know it Stylie

Stanford has a good FAQ on PS3 here: Folding@home - FAQ-PS3

FahMon isn't required. It's just an add-on to view your progress. There are many other add-ons available but I know and use FahMon so I recommended it. There is also a program called Electron Microscope III that will give you a little preview of your protien along with the stats, but I havn't been able to find a working link to it in awhile.

ok i guess i should have rephrased my question... on the PS3 when you go to join an exhisting team it asks for the Team Id number... so more specifically i ment to ask for the team number... but i searched the website for the forgotten hope team and found the team and the ID number on the site you sent me. Forgotten hope Team thats the link to the team and its ID number for any other PS3 users looking to join... I typed it in and suposedly i'm on the team. thanks Rad for this

I'll get to it, I am just confused what each client is? Like which one do you use and which one do you use that you can't shut off?

Sorry!

Ehh I got FahMon, have no idea how to set it up though

Also I have the console window opena nd FahMon open at the same time - is that necessary?

Sorry!
I can't really explain it better than what I did in Post #9:

hmmm.. the dumbed down version:

download: http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandeg...ws-Console.zip

Unzip to a directory of choice.. run the .exe

1) when it asks for user name, put in whatever you want to be displayed as
2) when it asks for team put in 84762
3) answer [defaults] to all the rest of the questions and you will be folding for Forgotten Hope.

Well if you have a yellow box next to the name of your computer then F@H is working. It takes a couple of percentages before it will show green. Maybe a few hours depending on the speed of your folding. FahMon isn't neccessary to run F@H... it's just an add-on. You can close it and it won't effect your folding at all. You can minimize the Dos box that F@H is running in. To shut down the client hit Ctrl + B.

OK here is a step by step setting up the client:

1) download the windows client fah6-win-x86-console.exe and execute it

##################################

Configuring Folding@Home...

User Name [Anonymous]? Rad_FHdev
(Type in your nickname)

Team Number [0]? 84762
(Make sure you get this number right or you will end up folding for another team)

Passkey []?
(Just hit enter and bypass this. It's so someone can't fold in your name... DOH! I'd never pass up free points myself)

Launch Automatically at machine startup, installing this as a
service (yes/no) [no]? no
(I don't like running it as a service... too hard to shut it down when you want to)

Ask before fetching/sending work (yes/no) [no]? no
(No so it doesn't pause waiting for your input after a WU is done)

Use proxy (yes/no) [no]? no
(No, unless you really use a proxy)

Acceptable size of work assignment and work result packets (bigger units
may have larger memory demands) -- 'small' is <5MB, 'normal' is <10MB, and
'big' is >10MB (small/normal/big) [normal]? big
(I use Big becasue I'm a points whore. big units are worth more)

Change advanced options (yes/no) [no]? no
(No need to change these settings in 99% of the setups)

Now the the client will Download a WU and start working on it. No more user input is necessary.

Hope this helps
