Welcome to the folding team!

Wish I had the answers to all your questions, but my knowledge predates the GPU2 folding client.

When I was folding 100% I had, 4 Q6600 quadcores (SMP x's 2), a GPU1 and a PS3 client cooking. The biggest points were comming from the quads. Back then you could be assured a 1760 point project almost every time. They ran about 2000 PPD (points per day) on average for about 4000 PPD per machine. They took about 20 to 22 hours per client to complete. Now the same machine is doing these 1920 point clients that take almost 2 days to complete per client and the PPD averages out to about 1500 PPD (3000 per machine). My PS3 averaged about 1000 PPD and my GPU1 client exactly 660 PPD since the point value was the same every day (330 points X's 2 and they took exactly 12 hours to complete).

Anyway, I'm as interested as you are about what the differences are in the points with this new GPU clients, but havn't looked into it becasue I have 3 machines mathballed due to California wildfires creating a blanket of smoke that is trapping in heat like an oven. My air conditioning just isn't working strong enough to cool off a whole office of computers.

You can find most of you answers here however:

Hi, I want to start folding with my computer but I got one question: does it affects internet speed? Since I already run a not that good version and I'm sharing it with my parents so I don't want to make us all slow in here

If it does not give big trouble I'm willing to join this folding team
Thanks.

For some reason my GPU gets insanely screwed up while folding and it just completely opts out, it won't even refresh properly. So can I get some help on this?

Got back into it, might as well. Shame the XBox 360 can't be used, otherwise I'd get that doing some folding also.

If you have a computer where two accounts exist, does making F@H a startup service on one account mean that F@H automatically becomes a start up service on the other one as well?
