Ok, you have probably heard all this before, but the old upload limit of 1gb made filefront clearly the top free upload hosting site
Now that you have brought it down to 600mb, it still is one of the best, but it also feels just 'average' like any site could do that
The one thing I would like to see back most is the 1gb upload limit. 1.5gb would be better as larger files tend to be from about 1.1 - 1.4gb big, but 600mb is too small for what you used to have for so many years.
And before you say something like 'It's too big,' like I said before, it was working fine for so many years. I think I've been a member since 04 or 05

Also, another thing I would like to see back is the file statistics, which shows you how much bandwidth your downloads have taken up, how much you have got stored and stuff like that. I know it doesn't seem like much but I always like building up stuff, if you get what I mean (eg I'll enjoy a game more if it records all my kills and stuff).

Ohh yeah and also I'm not sure if its just because I'm not used to it, but the new layout is a lot more complicated to use, like I still haven't figured out how to even create folders.

There are a few other things I'd like to see that I can't think of right now, but that is mostly it. All in all, (this is what I think so dont flame me, im not saying everyone agrees or anything) i think you should up the 600mb limit back to 1gb, or even 1.5gb (but keep the new uploader), add on the statistics, revert back to the old style pages where it can be sorted in folders and arranged by upload date, not alphabetical order, and also the ability for the user to disable linking back to their page. (what I mean by that is taking the Home>User>UT>Maps that is above the download off, so they can remain anonymous and keep the rest of their files private if they are linking to another site)

woo lol took me ages but now im finished
sorry if its posted in the wrong place

I think they should add a "Keep me Logged in..." Checkbox on the login page.

I would also like to see the old folder feature again. Same with blog and the whole old userpage features. Would be awesome if you could implement them again. =)

i never used the blog but yeah i dont see the point in improving a site if it takes off all the decent features and only leaves the bare bones of what it used to have

We moderators and supermods don't really have any authority over the network and file hosting site of FileFront; we're just here for the forums. Don't worry, the administrators do read this forum, though.

I agree, the old 1GB limit and folder-based organizing system was better, but I can't blame the admins for making a few minor cutbacks. We used to be owned by Ziff Davis, a pretty big media corporation, and we benefited from their budget. Now we're privately owned, so it's up to the few people who own this place to decide what we can and cannot afford.

Either way, it's still FileFront, and as long as they offer free hosting, it's good enough for me.

Also, welcome to the forums.

How many game related trailers or other videos/files do you see created by users that are over 600megs? We have. Of all of the files that were above this limit almost every one was a bootleg copy of a movie or game. We're not in the business to host illegal content and must delete it whenever we encounter it.
