This is why you have network storage, so if your hard drive crashes or has issues you have a copy somewhere else.

I'm sure I had to put in an e-mail address to sign up for the site, how about they actually use that e-mail address to warn me prior to deleting all the files I wanted to keep? What a cooky concept.

Files that were around for that long without active downloads were removed from our server to help conserve space. We send out emails that warn before a deletion is about to happen on your file and an option to not have it removed if it is still needed by you. The problem is that many spam programs filter those emails because they are automatically generated. Gmail, Hotmail and yahoo are the top 3 providers that have been known to put those emails in the spam folder or simply don't send it to your mailbox.

If the file is no longer listed, then I'm afraid it's been removed. I wish there was more that could be done, but once the file is removed, there's an incredibly small chance of having it restored, and only then if the file was deleted very recently. This is not out of policy, but simply our system constantly checking on files and removing older ones, it can only hold so many files in a backup before the oldest need to be removed from that.

Wow... that's the second time filefront has deleted my files, what nonsense, the first just blocked me out of my account for NO reason and I couldn't even access my old files, and now this, ugh.

When were you blocked out? If you mean when we first brought the new site online, it was a technical issue that prevented you from viewing your files, it was not intentional.

Is there something I'm missing? My files are not that old... What are the steps to be able to view your own files? I click my own name at the top and it just prompts me to upload a file.

No I was blocked out a long time ago on the old site, sometime around 2006, I even sent messages to filefront support and the forums but they were ignored so I just let it go and gave up, but I did have another account with just a few files and now they are gone because of this new site you guys have got going on.
