Default How do I disable smileys when posting?
Sorry for asking, but I can not find the "Disable Smileys when posting" -button anymore.
Can anyone tell me where it is gone?

If I type semicolon, closing parenthesis I want a semicolon and a parenthesis - and not a yellow picture.

You'll need to be in 'Advanced' posting mode, the option 'Disable smilies in text' is right at the top of the Additional Options area.

Alternately you could probably use one of the various code tags, although in my experience they're rather finicky.

ok, I'm in advanced mode, but I can see only

-Show your signature
-Automatically parse links in text
-Automatically retrieve titles from external links

under "Miscellaneous Options"

Hmm, you are indeed correct, it seems to have disappeared for normal members. Heaven knows why, but that's more n0e's department than it is our little peon department.

Guess in that case, using either [CODE], [PHP] or [HTML] tags is the only recourse for the time being unless an admin pops in, figures out why that was changed and changes it back.

Coulda swore it was there when I lost my staff usergroups back in September. Puzzling.

That's weird, when I clicked "Go Advanced" now I can clearly see where it says "Disable Smilies in text"

It is most likely a usergroup setting. I see EX-Rumia is in The Official FileFront Gaming Clan usergroup. That's the only obvious difference to the casual observer.

There is a shortcut however, if you'd like to not parse smileys when posting and don't have access to the option when posting.

Use the [noparse][/noparse] tags.
