Edit time limit

Just one question about these forums. This is the only forum I have been to where after a certain time you cannot edit your post. Could somebody explain the reasoning behind this? Thank you.

Well they have it set a 30minutes so that someone cannot come back and edit their post after 2 hours to win a game or argument.

Its basica;;y to prevent abuse, people could start saying things and then change the post to make it look like they did nothing or said something else much later on. Andthe other way around: add something naughty after the thread has gone past the page with your post on it.

Since you dont have to edit post often after 30 minutes *and if you do you can simply ask a staffer to add/remove/edit something for you) together with potential abuse GF decided that a 30 min editing time is fair and still should give you enough time to edit your post if you find out a mistake or something.

I personally have seen sites with a much shorter edit time (10-15 ,minutes) or even none at all. I like it the way it is on GF
