Re: Trainz! yup you are right it is. I think we need a new kursk map. |

Blow away a whole enemy base with 1 shot ? Now that is a definition of base raping  I think superheavy railgun weapons are a bit unwieldy to use, and very vulnerable in bf1942 scale maps....the maps are too small to represent 18 km and up distances these weapons fired, and enemies won't take long to get to where that huge gun is.....under a minute in most current size maps..... But the germans used smaller railguns too, that were converted naval guns. They could fire in any direction after reasonable short preperation time. Enemies would have to search for it down the entire rail line, would be nice if that line had tunnels too. Now there are battleships in FH so that damage is more acceptable i think. |
Re: Trainz! well maybe could be a scout thing, with a timer, and maybe only a few shots for the map total. Like you scout where the shot will land or around that, and after 100 seconds if you are still alive the shot is fired. Though I just think that gun would be more of a object to be destroyed if placed in a game. |

Re: Trainz! The Germans had a smaller 8-inch cannon nicknamed the Berlin Express or something like that. They attempted to push it up to a front in Russia by building tracks under fire. A map could include the gun (which was moved as far as possible, way close to the action) and the unfinished tracks being assaulted by the Russians. Also, Hailar has some tracks on it, as does Stalingrad. The boxcar and track skins already exists! How about that? |
Re: Trainz! I think the train models are meant as static objects on the maps with the possibility of maybe hopping in and using whatever weapon is on it. But I'm almost certain theyre not there to make a moving train.. |
Re: Trainz! My only "thought" here was really a map with a moving train on it. 'twould be cool. I know there are models made/being made. It's all good. But it would make for interesting battles. But, random thought, so would Stalingrad with the boats. |
Re: Trainz! Amen to Stalingrad with the boats. That would be 1337. |
