Default Realistic JU-87 Armament.

I enjoyed really much that the JU-87 on El-Alamein featured the 37 mm Anti tank guns.

But to make it maybe a bit more authentic, here are the weapon specifications:

JU-87A
Two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns in wings.
One 7.92mm MG 15 machine gun in rear cockpit.
One 551 lb. (250 kg) bomb on centerline.

JU-87B
Two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns in wings.
One 7.92mm MG 17 machine gun in rear cockpit.
One 1,100 lb. (500 kg) bomb on centerline.
Four 110 lb. (50 kg) bombs on wing racks.

JU-87D-1 & Ju 87D-5:
Two 7.92mm MG 17 machine guns in wings.
One 7.92mm MG 81 twin barrel machine gun in rear cockpit.
One 3,968 lb. (1800 kg) bomb on centerline.

JU-87D-7:
Two 20mm MG 151/20 cannon in wings.
One 7.92mm MG 81 twin barrel machine gun in rear cockpit.
One 3,968 lb. (1800 kg) bomb on centerline.

JU-87G
Two 37mm BK (Flak 18 or Flak 36) Cannon in underwing pods.
One 7.92mm MG 81 twin barrel machine gun in rear cockpit.
It could also be equipped with a bomb in the centerline, but was not able to execute dive bombing.

"The Ju 87G was the final version of the Stuka. It abandoned the dive attack in favour of an armament of two 37mm Rheinmetall-Borsig BK3,7 anti-tank cannon. These weapons fired special armour-piercing ammunition, with tungsten cores, at a muzzle velocity of 850m/sec. They were installed in gun pods fitted outboard of the landing gear legs. The ammunition was in six-round clips. The first operational trials were made in March 1943. The normal 7.9mm or 20mm wing guns were deleted. Dive bombing was not possible with the additional weight of the guns, so the dive brakes were also deleted -- the Ju 87G could still drop bombs, but not in a dive."

"In 1943 the first G-1's entered service (these being converted from D-3's). The G-1 was designed for one purpose only, to kill tanks (in a way, along with the Il-2 Stormavik, the ancestor of the A-10 Warthog). To accomplish this mission, the Gustav was equipped with two 37mm Flak 18 cannons. The G-1, and later the G-2 (converted from the long wingspan D-5)proved to be highly successful in "tankbusting", soon earning nicknames like 'Kanonenvogel' (Cannonbird) and 'Panzerknacker' (tank cracker). Most Gustavs were used on the Eastern front but could be found on the Western front as well by the end of the war."

http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/ju87.html

So the JU-87G features no conventionel guns for dogfighting, although the 37mm could be used to
down bombers for sure.
"The Ju-87 G-2 was the aircraft flown by the famous German pilot, Heinz Ulrich Rudel - he alone destroyed 519 units of enemy armored vehicles. Initially, the Ju 87G was seen as quite dangerous to its crews. The additional weight and drag of the wing guns adversely affected performance and handling, and low-level attacks in the face of the Russian AAA and fighters seemed suicidal. But true as that was, it remained that the Ju 87G was extremely effective. The 37mm gun was in 1943 considered obsolete as an anti-tank gun on the ground, but from the air it was still effective, because the Ju 87G could attack tanks from the rear or from above, were their armour was much thinner."

Also the Ju-87G ammo is limited to very 6 rounds per flak cannon:

A Ju 87 being armed. Each cannon was armed with just one six-round clip.

mmm, ~4000 lb

And the Gustavs, the ones in 0.5b on El Al were dangerous with MGs for strafing infantry and light armour and the cannons for tanks and bombers...6 shots and no MGs seems much more reasonable.

Well, at least rearming it should not take that long.

i dont know why this new patch took out the JU-87G on El Al. In my opinion it was great against fending off the british CrusdarIII reinforcments for a little while till you were knocked out by the fighters and the AA guns

Me, too!

I loved the JU-87G and I think with the real armament it would be far from overpowered.
And still a challenge for every tankkiller.

I suggest giving it an additional bomb to the 12 rounds of 37mm ammo.

Besides here are the MG 15/17 and 81 shown:

Anyway I like the JU-87G and I hope it will be back again in FH.

Hope others think the same way.

The G is on Kursk, it's not on El Alameing for obvious reasons. All you have to do is look at your own informaton: Ju87G entered service in 1943, whens' El Alamein again?
