| Traditional uniforms, though those are uniforms of the US civil war zouaves. And I gotta admit, while the enlisted zouaves uniform has never appealed to me, the officer version with the clean cut red trousers, blue frockcoat, and red kepi with gold piping is damn sexy:

| A distinct appearance also makes for easier identification of friendlies in a pitched battle. The distinct uniforms also aided Staff Officers in the direction of battles from afar.

| The Dutch did not use the 1895 Steyr-Mannlicher rifle, they used a version commissioned in 1895 but based on the one from 1893 which was a turn bolt repeater.
