New mapnaming-system? Maybe i am alone to think this, but i will share my idea with the forum... How about changing the way maps are named to Year-Month-Mapname? For example: 45-04-Berlin This way it would be easier to play the maps in chronological order and watch the evolution of tanks and other equipment progress during the war. |
Re: New mapnaming-system? i belve all maps have information and date in the loding screen ore look it upon the web |
Re: New mapnaming-system? I think we should change the map names to be more descriptive. Like, "That One In the Desert With Tanks And Stuff And Those Two Hills You Have To Take As the British for El Alamein or That One Where The Germans Have To Attack Two Lines And They Never Win for Tobruk. :) |

Re: New mapnaming-system? One of the best suggestions ever made. Point for you :) |
Re: New mapnaming-system? I think its enough to have the needed date information in the map briefing. If every map would have the loadscreen briefing done like: Map Title Date -Briefing which gives you a short summary of the battle like they are in the current version aswell- I dont think the map names themselfs should be made too complicated. |
Re: New mapnaming-system? In the wiki the maps are also in chronologic order |
Re: New mapnaming-system? One issue with the briefing screens -- they go by VERY quickly, due to BF2's stupid "Let's show you who was the biggest point whore!" screens during loading. As a result, the briefings are pretty much gone in about 15 seconds. |
Re: New mapnaming-system? You can allways go back to the map briefing if you want to.;) And to those who want to play maps in chronological order, if you want to do that you should be enough of a history buff to know when which battle took place. regards |

The problem is, mostly they'd just wind up named "Some Spawling Bloated Desert Tankerwhorefest So Don't Bother Playing If You Enjoy Playing Infantry." |
