Hmm, the Wikipedia states that the battle was won quickly, and the Germans retreated early. Not much of a fight... Though, it would be interesting to see this. Because it's Southern France, it may look more like Italy, or Greece, than France. An interesting change in French Maps?

You'd probably want to focus on the key battles following Operation Dragoon rather than the landings themselves. The Liberation of Toulon or Marseille are good choices (my vote goes for Toulon).

| When the soldiers of the Dragoon Divisions, and the Normandy Divisions intercepted one another, did they both go directly into battle with the Germans? If so, there could be a map where the Germans must defend from an enemy attacking from 2 sides. It would be interesting, but if that never occurred, then let this idea die.

I am from Germany and i hope you understand what i will say......... The Maps have often too few thing on the map ...... o its a desert but for the performance it was not chosen BF2 can dislay many more. The Textures resolution are tooooo low i mean that many plants on hight grafik settings seems like that are gif grafiks i see any pixel .thats not good vor the atmosphjere of the Mod.pls a higher texture resolution. Many maschinegun bullet from tanks are light green not yellow ?_? many many 3d models are the same and everywere. And at many places at the map who is no one are any models but the see one man in 7 days. Pls bigger MINES signs many people in the game dont se them and dont use the big map.For the minefields in many maps are a spawn piont at the border and no wone can see where he is ,this can we just with the big map. that was it from me for the grafi in FH2 a makeover for alle the maps is very terrible but essential

Sounds like you're playing on a crappy PC... FH2 looks fantastic for me. Light green MGs = tracer bullets. Oh, and operation Neptune was the name of the landings in Normandy, Operation Overlord was the name of the whole battle of Normandy itself.

Well to say graphics sucks one can mean many things. For example all vehicles done for FH2 are great as are their textures. But this is mostly from far away as if you are looking them nearer they are not so fabulous but still quite good. Statics on the other hand are not so well textured, they too look very good from far away but when next to them some of them look um... ugly (this is just my personal reference not trying to insult devs who made them!!) but as I said this does not cover all statics just some of them look rather bad when next to them. You should also remember that BF2 is older engine and does not sport grafics like Crysis or CoD4. And to be true its good that devs are not going über high-res textures all the way as that could bog down many slower comps. Is there any more interesting battles besides Bardia during the Operation Compass in North Africa? I'd like to see one or two new maps that has Italians versus Commonwealth forces.

I lay on high grafiks wiht a hight end pc and the alphachannel of the textures of the plants are low and the texture resolution of many textures in the maps are low that was not a bug or my fault.........

Seeing as Normandy will be the next theatre i'd like to see a battle of Norrey-en-Bessin map, it could be used for two battles, one infantry only and another armour-oriented. The first battle began at 03:00 on June the 8th, I. Abteilung/SS Pz.Gren.Rgt. 26 (12th SS Panzer Division 'Hitlerjugend') was ordered to capture the village of Norrey-en-Bessin, occupied by D company, The Regina Rifles (7th Canadian Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division). At the time of the attack there was no Allied or German armour in the area. Although the attack began under cover of darkness, the Germans advanced on foot over open fields, and the Canadians artillery support was very effective, the Germans withdrew at 11:00, having suffered five killed and twenty wounded. For support the Germans should have 8cm Gr.W.34's and 7.5cm leIG 18's (if the devs add them), no divisional artillery support was provided. The Canadians should have 3 inch mortars, Vickers MMG's, 25 pdr's (or commander artillery) and possibly 6 pounders in support. The second battle occured at 13:00hrs on the 9th of June, this involved 3. Kompanie, SS Pz.Rgt.12, with 12 Panther tanks with no infantry support (though for the sake of gameplay there would have to be infantry support) again attacking Norrey-en-Bessin, held by D coy, The Regina Rifles, supported by the Sherman III/VC's of the 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade, possibly C Squadron, 1st Hussars. Durng the advance of the Panthers they were screened from 6 pounders located in the village, however they were exposed on their right flank (IIRC), from where they were engaged by the Shermans, 7 Panthers were destroyed, the remaining 5 Panthers and surviving crewmen withdrew under heavy small arms and artillery fire. sources: "Steel Inferno: I SS Panzer Corps in Normandy" by Michael Reynolds. 1st Hussars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia German OB Axis History Forum • View topic - Norrey-en-Bessin on June 9, 1944 History
