Any thoughts on sheer Naval maps? Either complete or mostly, something like Midway would work. Say one Aircraft carrier each side, a battleship and maybe two destroyers? Would be cool. But frankly, I'm in no hurry. I'm having a ball with the release version and patient enough for a next map pack. But a Paratrooper map would be cool such as Normandy D-Day -1 or Market Garden. Would be interesting to see glider incorperated into the British.

Battle of Tali-Ihantala
Biggest battle in Continuation war between The Soviet union and Finns (supported by Germans) 25. Juny - 9. July 1944

Soviets tried to launch huge assault, but Finns stopped them with ultimate courage. Finnish stürmgeschutzes destroyed over 40 soviet tanks with only losses of 2 own tank. German flying unit Kuhlmey had important part supporting Finns by having air superiority and dive-bombing enemy tanks.
Loss of soviet union quickened for its part the end of enormous attack in the karelian isthmus.

Biggest battle ever fought on The Nordic countries.

I would also like to see some maps between Soviet Partisans and SS-forces behind frontline.

Cephalonia 1943

I think it is assumed that the Italian Army will eventually be fully featured much like it was in the first Forgotten Hope. Thus bringing forth my request, I would really like to see a map based off of Operation Asche which occured in 1943. It occured a little known battle on the island of Cephalonia. The battle was shortly and (poorly) portrayed in the movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin, but would be good for Forgotten Hope 2. The Italian Aramy and Resistance rose up against the Germans who wanted them to disarm. 12,000 italians of the Acqui Division fought against the Germans for a week. I think it would make an interesting map because it would be unique. Having the Germans fight the Italians as they did would make an interesting fight. I remember there were some unique battles done for FH1, so perhaps this is one for FH2!

9 March 1945 - Indochina coup - The Japanese seize control of the French colony, but not without some heavy fighting that resulted in the deaths of 2,642 French troops. This would chronologically be the last battle of the war involving the French in which the weaponry used was entirely French, plus would depict a relatively unknown and forgotten battle.

Operation August Storm (8 August 1945) - Soviets against Japanese in the final major campaign of the Second World War.

Battle of Shanghai (13 August 1937 - 26 November 1937) -
Someone already mentioned it, but I believe it deserves a second mention.

Battle of Lille (25-31 May 1940) - 40,000 French troops, remnants of the French First Army, fight against the Germans at Lille in what would become street-to-street fighting, giving the British and rest of the French enough time to escape at Dunkirk. This would certainly be one of the most epic battles of the western Blitzkrieg.

I think it has been already suggested but Bir Hakeim would be good.About 3700 French soldiers resisted to Rommel and his Germano-italian force for 16 days (with only bren carriers, french AT guns and some Howitzer and bofors given by British) allowing British to regroup and receive reinforcement which permited them to win El Alamein. At the end about 2600 French soldiers escaped through the German Forces, 800were captured, Germano-Italian forces lost 3300 men (killed or injured), 277 were captured, 51tanks were destroyed and 49 planes (7 by AAguns and 42 by the RAF).

Malta (airmap) (suggested before)

here are some suggestions
1. 1-2 stationary naval vessels (yet can be sunk!) for AA fire.
2. high view distance.
3. Long British plane spawntime, so runway attacking would be favored
4. Anti Basecamp. we don't want this to be para dropping map.
5. Big airfield, it would not be nice to see 5 stukas landing in a same area for rearm ending up with big troubles, maybe an Empty hangar would be good.
6. No "spotting" feature so you don't have a thing like padlock...
7. Enough planes for 64 player version so there won't be people running around in the runway...and shooting others for planes, of course to make this something have to be done to favour tail gunning, perhaps driver kill assist in bombing objectives.

Idea for Naval map staying in the Italian/North Africa Area: Battle of Cape Matapan. Should have no cap points but the objective to destroy all enemy ships. Brits would have a Battleship, and Aircraft Carrier with Fairey Swordfishes on deck and two Cruisers. Italians would have a Battleship and three Destroyers. Any other ideas on this one? The map wouldn't be hard, just open water, its the ships in the BF2 engine that could be problematic.

Neptune is basically another name for Overlord. They are not different operations. Stupid MoH Airborne had to screw it all up.

Neptune was the assault plan for Overlord. The actual invasion itself is Overlord. Neptune consisted of nothing more than supply routing, pre-invasion reconnaissance, and bombardment, and a plan to keep the foothold in Normandy.
