Deir El munassib

Right before the third battle of El Alamein, units of the italian Folgore division slaughtered a british night assault on their positions. Montgomery never spoke about the incident because he feared the impact on the morale of his troops. That would be a quite interesting map because

-night battle
-close combat
-italian paratroopers
-italian paratroopers with captured british equipment

think about it.

Ever since I played Alam Halfa, I've been itching for a good trench fight map. Some of the best fights in the game IMO occur in the trench between the 2 first flags. It's just great fun, and I wish there was a map that would have more of it.
Assaulting an entrenched enemy and cleaning the trenches with MG fire killing anyone who dares raise his head. Just pwnsome.

I don't care if it's based on some real battle or not, playability is what matters.

I was initially surprised by your reply - then I looked at your location entry . And, actually, the disposition ratio was almost 60-1!

Info for all others - there's a Swedish powermetal band Sabaton that released an album called "Art of War", with songs alluding to... you guessed it, warfare. Once track, "40-1", is about the Battle of Wizna.

So, you see, the map already has a loading theme virtually made for it !

I just got BF2 and used to play BF1942 forgotten hope all of the time. My all time favorite thing in forgotten hope in BF1942 was the Navel battles. Any chance of that happening in the future? A sea-map perhaps? Some aircraft carriers, submarines, destroyers. The first one to sink the navy of the enemy wins. Now I haven't played BF2 enough to know all about the game's engine but I do know its setup so you cannot pilot large vessels like the naval carrier's, etc. But is it possible to mod something like that?

Unfortunately, the BF2 engine hates people on moving vehicles/vehicles on vehicles.

We tested the LCA ingame and people can stand inside while the vehicle moves (not occupying one of the vehicle positions, but just standing 'on top' of it). However, as soon as you make a really rough movement, such as bumping into another ship or the shore everybody dies.

I read it like you can get in one of the vehicle slots and you'll be fine when the boat moves around. Just when you are standing on the boat you'll be in danger, this would also prevent the larger ships to move around because on them you do not occupy a slot most of the time.
A possible reason why all the carriers in the vanilla BF2 maps are statics which can not move at all.
