Heck i just hope to see a naval map featuring some American PT-boats. A nice remake of Invasion of the Phillipines would be sweet.
p.s. I'd also love to see a naval map featuring the I-400

any PT boats rocks, but i would say their torpedoes are too powerful in small maps

I think ships like the German R-boat (Minenräumboot) would be a great way to deal with PT boats. Afterall they where quite manouverable. Sure they arent as fasts as PT boats with 19 knots but they make it up for it with pretty heavy armament and excellent manouverability.
Or maybe some Leichte Schnellboote wich where launched from certain auxilliary cruisers. The Schnellboote 1939/1940 would be nice too.
Planes would be nice to see aswell on a sea map. Seaplanes, ofcourse, such as the Heinkel 59, wich could be used for a wide variety of tasks.
Even more interesting would be Midget Submarines, such as the Biber, Seehund. Or Manned torpedoes, such as the Neger and the Marder.

seaplanes, , they were abused in FH to cap sea flag , though...
yes, mini boat warfare is indeed quite interesting, especially when you have space for manouver and enough time to run ~

I´d like to hear you again after playin a seabattle as stated above with high viewdistance on a large map, with lots of FH-Quality Ships and 64 Players on the server.
Thats gonna give a whole new meaning to the word "Lag".

by logic that the size of map factor will be eliminated

That can be solved by making it impossible for seaplanes to capture flags. Points could be given to pilots of seaplanes for rescueing teammates and dropping them off at a nearby ship (and ofcourse for sinking enemy ships). I think that would solve that problem, no?

Plus naval engagements should take place from farther away, seeing an enemy convoy coming in on the horizen is an amazing sight to see....they dont just Appear out of the fog right in front of you....you see the smoke billowing from there stacks and you think "oh sh*t" this is going to get interesting.....
Well first off I wasn't talking about lag, I was talking about how big the map would be on your HDD.
And yes, if FH2 will remove fog at least on naval maps "this sh*t will be interesting* >:]

i think there should still be some fog on some maps or smoke screens are not going to work, everyone just aim the smoke to shoot,
is anyone working on ship modeling?(cruisers!!!!!!!!)

OK just for clarification there isnt NO lag, theres just not alot of it
Here is a picture from one of our maps to show what I'm talking about
(ignore the bad resolution and crappy graphics settings please )
Spoiler:
That is the maximum distance you see the ship, or thats when they appear out of the fog.....even then though, dont even try to shoot as your not going to hit anything....Its impossible to even the target untill you get much closer, even then you will find hitting the other ship to be quite difficult
As for file size, there are MANY MANY things that you can delete out of a maps folder to reduce file size, most mods come jampacked with everything under the sun in there, but if you delete the unnecessary stuff even a map that big will unnoticed....
