The Surreal mod managed to get a working monorail ingame and in use for BF1942. Hopefully the FH team will get a train in FH2 eventually.

Indeed.

How about u have to defend the Traintracks on top of controlling control points. Like if the tracks are destroyed your source of supplies is slowed and vehicles don't spawn as quickly and oyu don't get as many of them.

There was a railroad track around El Alamein (going to Alexandria I think?) along the coast - north. I don't know if they plan to include it in an El Alamein map, but someone can map that if they want something historical.

I looked at a map book I have and the Australian 9th Division (veterans of the siege of Tobruk) saw action against the German 164th and 90th Light Afrika Divisions for a few months along that railroad line. So maybe someone can make another map for the Aussies (besides Tobruk).

I don't know about implementing an actual moving train, since it sounds hard due to the physics people are talking about in this thread.

I don't know a thing about dev objects and such, but I'll give you my idea.

How about putting invisible static "walls" as high as the train wheels, attached to the rail static object. The player controlled train wheels would be inside these walls, which prevent the train of getting off track.

Nice - figure out how they did it and model our own sometime. At least we know it's possible.

it's funny, because I'm going to buy BF2 just for FH2... sometimes I only buy games for the engine so I can download the mods.

i think a fast train that goes fast and has a couple mg42s on top would be good.
can you say drive-by shooting?
