Default BF1942 and BF2 Radio Systems

Which radio system seems more easier to use, to me, its the BF1942 radio system. there's no fumbling around with the mouse to show that theres "Enemy APC Spotted!" or anything like that.

For example, say you want to say, "Enemy Tank Spotted". In BF2 you would have to press either Q or T (forgot which one), press the "Spotted" button, then look around for the "Tank" button. There is a large possibility you could miss the "Tank" bar because all the vehicle names are cramped together.

In BF1942, you have to press F3, then F1, and if you wanted anti-tank support, you just have to press F2, and F1.

In BF2 if you've got your crosshairs over whatever you want to spot and left-click on 'Spotted' it'll automatically spot it for you (type and position).

BF2's spotting system is easier and better in my opinion, but overall I prefer the Battlefield 1942 mode. For me it's easier to just press two buttons (which only takes a second) that press Q and then fumble around with the mouse (which takes 3 seconds at best for me).

But honestly, I think we should be alowed to select/choose our own mode. That'd be perfect.

Both have their uses, and it would be nice if we had both. Requests and warnings via the F-keys, spotting with the comm rose.

Overall I prefer the BF1942 system but in FH2 I would like to see both. F keys for requests and commands and spots with the rose like Raptor.

id actually like to see the opposite. spotting with the F keys, cuz i just find it unnecessary to go through that stuff in BF2. if a plane is flying overhead, rather than just pressin 2 buttons (u can move your mouse 2 if ur using the fkeys). but if u gotta do the rose thing, ur mouse is locked up and usually by the time i find the right vehicle, the plane is gone.

There are only a few types of vehicles to select from. If the vehicles is really manouvring that fast it probably isn't worthwile to report it in in the first place since any troops responding ill be far far far too late.

What I would love to see would be Neverwinter Nights interface.
There you used either the radial via the mouse or the numblock.
Each key around the 5 was a menu entry. 5 was to open the menu. (iirc)
And NWN had submenus so you could reach a lot very fast.
8 on lvl 1
28 on lvl 2 (one for going back)
784 on lvl 3 (just to give an idea)
and entry was like in BF42 f1f1 = 577 f.i.

You don't have to do all that complicated stuff. All you need to do is to point you crosshair in the general direction of the vehicle, press Q and then press Spotted. the computer will automatically recognize the vehicles for you, so you don't have to choose from the list.
