Good point Fuzz. Perhaps it could be made so you can only point and specify which vehicle? What I mean is, having the automated spotting feature removed. So you could say 'enemy tank spotted' and the icon would pop up, but it would NOT follow the tank. I always found it annoying how the spotting feature would feed their exact movements to you.
Althoguh even spotting the location of the enemy behicle is technically unrealistic as well, it would be possible in real lfie to relay information like 'enemy tank in front of the barn' or something of that sort. The spotting can cover that.
I also (which I assume ahs been suggested already) suggest that the grid squares be added again. A1, B7, D9, etc. They were very useful imo. Not to mention more realistic.
Exactly my thoughs, I also like the idea of letting radio messages having more options when you are in a squad.
Foodmaniac, you do realise HUd colour etc. can be changed don't you?
Sorry, only played the demo version, kinda dissapointed with it, forgot to fool around with it :P
also, why i like the BF1942 radio system:
1. no battle rose to clog your screen, thereby obscuring whats in front of you.
2. no fumbling around with a battle rose, takes a shorter amount of time to just press 2 button
PLEASE DEVS CAN YOU REIMPLEMENT THE GRID SYSTEM, PRETTY PLEASE WITH A GOLIATH ON TOP

Err... you do know that the devs can customize the HUD of the commo rose. They can make it smaller, change the color and relocate it. I want to see the a mini-commo rose in the bottom left-hand corner like many games do.
I will say this, memorizing the function keys for BF1942 sucked -- especially when you're playing multiple mods that rearranged some of them. Also, sometimes you can't see a tank coming over the hill because it block it. I actually enjoy the commo rose because I don't have to fumble around with it; I just have to hold the button and use my mousewheel oppose to trying to find the keys that you couldn't remember during that moment.
I personally love the BF2 System. Its great, so much easier for me to use by pressing Q and going through the menus with my mouse, insead of taking my hands off the controls to try and remember which F Key did what.
Actually, just screw the whole of the ME...Anarchy FTW!
Which radio system is easier to use, better to navigate, and overall better?
Easier to use has got to be BF1942. Better to navigate is a toss up to me. But overall, BF2 is better.
BF2 is more detailed and more reliable. E.g., in BF1942 you need to keep pointing at target for your unit arrow to show up pointing to the announced target on the mini-map. In BF2, the target's icon appears on the mini-map for a brief time and the spotter is free to move on, (it's like telling the team where the tank is while you're taking cover).
It does take allot of getting used to, though. I still find it a little aukward since I use my mouse to support more movement and aiming than the default mouse settings. It's slower to use than BF1942, but the quality of the communication is much better with BF2.
USI was able to cahnge some of the names of the como rose but not the feature, instead of saying roger on the como rose it says 10-4, on th note of spoting, i think it has to be put in because hwen you say tank spoted in 42, 9/10 times no 1 knows where it is too, at least if a icon shows we can all see, and it is just as realistic as real life seeings that we cant use real coordinates for people to know where it is like saying 20.43.50.1 N, 23.67.56.5 S, we cant do that so this is a good alternative.
