The sherman's gun really isn't overpowered, its just that german tankers are careless. Also, good luck in killing a king tiger with a sherman, even empty it will take ages (you have to aim for the very top of the turret (wich is part of the "roof" hitbox, but is VERY sloped making the damages there ridiculous, especially considering you have to face the KT's turret when doing that), its the only way to damage it).

When I drive a KT, and I know no dangerous tanks are around, I frequently turn my tank and advance towards enemy shermans in reverse while they, terrified, waste all their ammo hoping to dent my paint, then I just 1sk them when I'm bored. Evil isn't it?

Evil is, shooting me , while in the M36, with the KT, but having it deflect, then MGing me out of it. And, me getting into the 105 APC then you saying over Vent(It's only me and you in Vent and in the server), "Pilotka is that you trying to kill me.", then I shot you, and realised it does crap and you basically MGed me down(The KT shot made it bounce up in the air). That is evil

The kingtiger really is fine the way it is. Im not sure about overpowered, or about underpowered. But this tank was VERY accurate to about alot further then you can see in FH and its muzzle velocity was Sick. Which could underpower it some if the shell goes through both sides. Some cases it could just make a hole through both sides of the tank.

1. Late model tanks all had power turrets. Even then they are all scaled down to be fair.
2. In real life the American MBTs all had gyrostabalizers. The problem is with smooth terrain.
3. No it isn't. And the KT driver is being stupid if a Greyhound is killing him.
4. Half tracks have tons of empty space where no fuel or ammo is stored. Putting a round into a vehicle doesn't matter if it doesn't kill a vital crewman or hit something that goes bang easily.
5. Yes, but you don't want real off road speeds, trust me.

Komrad, talk to Mazz, I've seen him kill King Tigers with the M8.

1. The turret speeds are multiplied by 6x I think. (not 2x) And this multiplier is applied equally to all tanks. I think they spin too fast myself.

2. Tanks had varying abilities to shoot on the move, some poor, others better with technology. Having this represented in game would be cool.

3. I'm no expert on this but I heard that at the ranges in FH most sherman shots would do heavy damage to anything. Maybe it is a lil overpowered, but then again we don't have a 50:1 sherman to tiger ratio.

4. Pak40 kills a M3A1 pretty consistently, from my memory, in one shot. Realistically just hitting anywhere on a halftrack shouldn't do much unless you hit an important bit (or hit it with HE). I have no problem encouraging APC use because they're all impotent deathtraps right now.

5. What I always heard the tank speeds are too SLOW. Realistic would be faster. Actually I would like realistic offroad speeds if they are slower than what's in FH currently. The slower the play the smarter the play. Fast paced shit generally gets noobish fast.

In 0.7? I know in earlier versions the Kingtiger seemed more vulnerable (shells rarely bounced off as opposed to now), but unless the M8's gun as better penetration values than the Sherman's (wich is almost possible since, after all, the M8's gun probably has a better muzzle velocity.) I really can't see how its possible to do that. Lets just say I'm skeptical. From what I noticed of the FH gunning system is that penetration and damage is not related, my guess about this is that the M8's gun has better penetration than the sherman's gun, but does MUCH less damage because of the small caliber. I'll have to do some testing about this, I must say I never used the greyhound much for a number of reasons.

1.You would not have fun, if Kingtigere were simulated accurate...
2. The guns are fine, its hard to hit while driving, and shermans (and some german tanks) had this feature, that makes the gun stable while running.
3. Shermans are fine, and pretty accuratly simulated, its hardly possible to get it done any better with the BF1942 engine.
4. Do you think a metal plate explodes just because you shoot a hole in it???
5. Its a Historical accuracy mod, not a Superrealism piece of no fun shit.

Speaking of naval turrets, does anyone else notice how FH's WWII era ship commanders seem to employ pirate tactics?(geting really close and moving along eachother, firing away the cannons)

Yeah,but ion TRA, we actaully play virtual Battleship! Just don't put the ships "forward" thinig on a joystick throttle, or it's cheating*whistle*
