Guys, no reason to get mad at Ramirez, just because he doesn't see FH the same way as everybody else, it doesn't mean he is exactly dissing it. IMO, he just doesn't understand how different it is from BF1942.

Ramirez, there are so many differences between FH and ithe original game that it would take way too long to describe them, so I will try to list just the most important groups.
First and most obviously there are many more vehicles, weapons, and statics in FH than in the original game, hundreds more. BF1942 had a very limited selection of tanks for example, only seven in the entire game. FH has more 20 for Germany alone, and thats not counting armoured cars or assault guns.
Second all the vehicles and weapons behave very differently from each other, and from their Bf1942 counterparts. When Dice and EA made BF1942, they were making a relatively simple, easy-to-balance WWII game, that would be popular with a large number of people--from WWII fanatics to people that just liked to run around and blow stuff up. So all the medium tanks are very similar in their range, accuracy and armor level, and the same goes for the heavies. In FH, we tried to make the vehicles and weapons behave as much like their real-life counterparts as we could, within the limits of the game engine.
Finally, while this may not be important to everyone, we tried to make FH maps historically accurate. So if the map is about a battle between Germany and the USSR in 1942, all the vehicles weapons and textures used there will be something that might actually have been found there--things that were only used by another army, or were developed later will not be in the map.
There are other differences too but these seem to me to be the most important. IMO, they make Forgotten Hope much more challenging and interesting to play.
The old grenade shake was pretty overdone. Especially where there was a foot of concrete between you and it and you are shaking around like you're a toy boat in a squall.
Oh sorry, my bad.
Yeah the shaking is really overdone, i think it's especially disturbing on omaha carlie sector when you try to go through those bunkers.
Yes it is annoying to be in an arty-proof bunker that cannot be demolished with ANY weapons in the game, yet a simple FRAG grenade can make it shake like a house of cards in an earthquake.
And I have a few questions for you Ramirez.
Have you seen flamethrowers in Vanilla BF42?
Have you seen most of the varients of tanks in BF42?
Have you died in one hit from a Tiger in BF42?
Have you seen so many weapons?
Do you even understand how things work and how to win a battle in FH?
If the answer is no to ANY of these questions, you must get on FH and play for another 2 years like I have. Then go back to Vanilla BF42, and see if you notice any difference.
"Victory after all, I suppose! Well, it seems a very gloomy business."
Wow sorry i only played it for 2 weeks. Im sure its great. But fh2 looks alot better to me. Like the sub they made cant wait to own with that. Destory there ardy.
NP Ramirez, I figured it was something like that. BF2 has some spectacular graphics advantages over BF1942. Part of why FH2 looks better than FH1, though, is just that the team has gotten better with more experience.

I actually did go back to bf1942 for exactly 3 rounds (45minutes) a few weeks back. Also been playing FH since 0.5. And by going back to see what bf1942 was all about. I really got to see the crappyness of vanilla, don't get me wrong though, before FH I actually enjoyed it.
You just can't go back and still enjoy it, nades hurting tanks alot, Zeros with 30 bombs, achi-val just as manuverable as the Zero, weird balistics etc...
Still nadequake is weird, but isn't it weird that a building can survive 2000kg of bombs or constant arty torture? Hehe, at least it doesnt drive me away from FH, since it's actually the only fps I play these days...
