FG42/BAR Bipods

Hi,

it's cool that a few of the infantry support weapons allow dual rates of fire. That said, would it be possible to model these with a deployed bipod when lying down?

Not to start an MG lamer discussion, but the MG42 has this, and it seems kind of strange that the other LMGs don't have the same sort of accuracy when lying down.

Re: FG42/BAR Bipods

IIRC BG2 will have working bipods for LMG's, so it should be possible.

I don't know if I quite understood you. Do you mean changing the model so that it looks different, or changing the code so that it works different?

Re: FG42/BAR Bipods

I think it might be both; he wants it so that when you lay down, your person will deploy the bipod in the game, and your accuracy will go way up.

Re: FG42/BAR Bipods

It doesn't matter if they increase the accuracy of the FG42, since it's only in one or two maps, and since it's only accurate in semi-auto mode.

3 < x < 5 maps

x = the number of maps the FG42 is on

breakthrough, pro( i think), berlin

Re: FG42/BAR Bipods

I'm pretty sure it's on 318 as well.

He means the bar too. Also why cant the accuarcy be uppped alot when proned so its like u have a bipod (alot of things have to delayed to stimulate this)

Re: FG42/BAR Bipods

Bipod didn't increase accuracy, it decreased recoil and made the weapon easier to aim, since the BAR weighed ~21 lbs and was hard to shoulder for any amount of time.

One of the unique features that will be in the first release of Battlegroup 2 will be bipods. The support class will have this advantage over other classes. Bipods work how one would expect them to: your recoil, movement speed, turning speed, and normal deviation are greatly reduced. There is also a two second delay when switching from standard mode to bipod mode (or vice versa), where one can not fire. Defending an outpost as a support will now be more easier, but assaulting one using bipods will not be a wise choice.
