Ive just finished reading a book called Taming The Panzers, which is about the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment in WWII, and here it states that they were supplied with 80 brand new Comet Tanks in January 1945, and they used them very successfully in the Rhine crossings theres even a piece in there about there first tank kill with a Comet it was head on against a Tiger from about 800yrds. The Tiger got the first shot off and the Comet Commander said he could here the 88mm round whistle past overhead. The Comets gunner then fired and scored a hit with his 77mm it penetrated just infront of the drivers position and consequently caused a brew up, only the commander got out in time. This was the first recorded tank kill for a Comet.
Is there any chance that in the future we will see the Comet in late war maps?
