The best option would be to disable exterior cams for infantry and limited them for tanks (would be great if we could disable all external views aslong as you are in a flag cap radius. But this wont be possible). I myself use it external cam while taking flags with a vehicle (tank) so i won't get owned by infantry firing their bazooka/piat in the back of my panzer.

Pro's of disabling external views:
- No more cheating by lookiing through walls (clipping)
- No more looking around corners
- No more tanks being able to spot enemy infantry sneaking up to them.

Con's:
- You cant take screenies of yourself (solution: get the movie mod or let someboidy shoot a screenie of you)
- Harder to navigate trough woods with a tank (solution: in time you will be able to learn how much space your tank needs).

So the pro's clearly outweight the cons, so IMO external views on infantry and tanks should be disabled ASAP. I can live with boats and airplanes having them though since they cant really cap flags.

I voted to keep it the way it is now. Plain and simple, I like the external views. I think removing them wouldn't detract from game play at all, I just don't think that removing them is going to have the huge effect on game play like everyone else seems to think. And I guarentee that if you are sick of hearing about how much AT pwns tanks, just wait and see what's going to happen if you remove external camera views from tanks

Personally I like these kind of realism things but still I voted "other". And that is because of that server side option, which already exists. I also checked the memory of ASE (no active internet connection at home at the moment) and the result was also that none has disabled those views. If enough players are interested about removing them, persuade one well known server to try that for a period of time and we get empirical evidence about popularity. In BFV situation is that about 1 % of servers have disabled views, too bad, could make choppers not that powerfull.

Heh, the first time I looked at that screenie, I thought he was talking about being able to see the guys coming up the stairs, I didn't even notice the glitch

Or add a commander coupola to each tank

I voted for removal of external cams, though i must the biggest user of these external views
