Tank commanders normally were out or looking around somehow and went in the tank when combat was expected or started. External view helps with that and without them vehicles would be greatly gimped. Infantry on the other hand....
I see no real defense for infantry 3rd person modes

Except being able to very stealthily peek at the enemy, something you could do in real life but not in game.

another example of how you can 'use' the third person mode:
you can use it to look around the corner, without riscing your puny life.

I'm pretty sure his legs would stick out of the wall there, and therefore enemy soldiers will see him, but anyway, I get the picture!

If he would crouch instead, his legs won't stick out, and he will still have the same great view around the corner.
Bottom line is, external camera for soldiers is an exploit explicitly enabled by the devs. If they care, they will disable it.

Have you sent a PM to one of the active devs on the forum about this exploit?

wow this is retarded.. third person is the best thing ever to happen to games and is one funnest parts of fh. The advantage 3rd person offers is minimal at best, and accounts for many game inaquacies such as a lack of perhipial vision, and the abilty to tilt your read around a a corner.
The people who actually bother with the truly exploiting with it only tend to get a minimal advantage anyway, and removing it comes at the price of huge amount of enjoyment, and the abilty to take screenies of yourself.
Not to mention servers can still disable this if they want. If your so interested in killing why don't you start up a server with it disabled or go play on one- oh wait there are none (that i know of)- why? Because removing it sucks, far more then a couple crapppy players using it for a "exploit"- its not even a unfair advantage since everbody has it.

I'm pretty sure FH did have the F12 view in an earlier build, they probably took it out for the reasons already mentioned. I don't mind F10 and F11 view since the infantry movement is so clunky that it's hard to peek w/o exposing yourself a lot.

Agree completely with everything.
Calling that a cheat is really too much, almost no one bothers to use that anyway, and it brings absolutely minimal advantages if even that.
