Flyby view could be used to make some really bad cheats. Hit flyby view, hide in hole, wait for someone to come by that can't even see you, BAM.

If they hadn't figuered that one out by now I'm not too worried about their skills...

Third person view's ability to be used as X-ray vision is pretty lame. But, I'll admit that I use it. When I'm behind sandbags or on the back side of a hill I'll use it because I consider it to be similiar to peeking over an obstacle. Since in BF the soldier camera is in the chest, I consider this a viable option to sticking my ENTIRE upper torso over the hill just to see if a tank is coming. But, the ability to see through walls/ floors is wrong and if that means losing my ability to "peak" over hills and sandbags then I'm all for it.

Posting how people cheat with things is good because it forces it to be changed so those cheats no longer happen. No one under any circumstance other then making movies needs any external veiws at all other then nosecam. External views are for movie making mods not for gameplay.

Re: Fly-By Camera

Plane taxing is really the only thing external views are reaaally needed for. Tanks, inf and whatever... while ppl will CLING TO THEIR BOTTLE LIKE NO ONE'S BUSINESS, aren't neccesary.

And it's true I use ext view all the time for my sneakpeaks over walls.

Re: Fly-By Camera

all 3rd person views shouldnt be in FH i think, even with vehicles because with a tank you can look behind you without it looking asthough u are, so people think there running up to your while u cant see them (which you couldnt in real life) an so then u get on the mg or something quick (because its facing backwards i think, if not then turn it backwards before hand) so yea u just press '2' and who ever it was behind u has just died

Exactly Myrddraal, thank you for explaining it to him. I posted this just in time. The new release was a week away from the time i posted it. Disabling the 3rd person camera is simply a matter of changing a single value from 1 to 0 (or vice-versa) in the new build.

If FH devs care, they will change it in time for 0.67. If they don't change it, that means they are encouraging such exploits by giving soldiers external camera.

Eh, except you could really. Tanks had devices for checking their surroundings. Not as Effective as F10, F11, but they weren't totally blind.
