Not again...

Dude, they are coming, eventually. Until then, its off to play FinnWars for the people like you.

WE DON'T EVEN HAVE ITALY IN YET

The Italians should take all priority over Hungary, China, Canada, and Finland.

I agree, although I think that the priority should be set on Italy and then Finland and Canada(Canada would be pretty easy to do) and then China. China wouldn't be too hard either as most equipment they used already exists

Yep :nodding:

Onlu weapons that need to be added are suomi, puukko-knife, kasapanos antitank handgrenade and Ukko-Pekka rifle (and luger and maxim with finnish tripod but they are going to be added anyway so...)

well its in finnwars, so while its neat there are other things I would be more happy seeing first. For one, I would rather see the jap 20 mm at rifle, just because they are in need of it more and it could be used on so many more maps.
Among the finnish weapons I would prefer them getting more of there mainstream/more seen weapons such as the sumoi, etc. Neverthless it is a totally sweet rifle, so whenever or if it is done, it will certianly be pretty sweet.

The Jap 20mm AT rifles had around the same penetration as the Boys. Which means it is absolutely butt-rammingly useless. Despite its weighing 100+ lbs and requiring 2 men, it was still horribly innefective.

Also, the rumours that it fired full automatic are false. There's no allowance for such a thing in the manuals for the weapons that were recovered. The 20mm AT rifle was later withdrawn but the basic design was changed a bit and became the Ho-1 and Ho-3 20mm aircraft cannons for the Japs, which were very good 20mm guns.

no it had much better penetration then the boyes, and was actually quite effective against early war light tanks and armored cars for which it was designed. It was only became ineffective when attaking mid-war medioum tanks, something it was never intended.

taki lists the penetration at 31 mm at 350 m and 20mm at 700mm. In other words, it could match the boyes penetration at nearly 7 times the distance.

In fact it was one of the among performing at rifles of that period, a distinction that of course meant little as the war progressed and they the rifle were limted to thin skinned vehciles. Note that ammunition was impotant too, for example on the boyes 21 mm figure is for the more advanced ap ammo.

Finally, your say it needed2 people to carry it though I usually see this as four people. This info about it not firing in fully automatic is interesting though.

Re: a little suggestion:Finnish AT rifle

I heard exactly the opposite. "Rapid Fire" (a book) lists the penetration as equal to the boys, but at twice the range (which would still not be worth much).

The book may be wrong, but I haven't found any other errors in it yet. I'll look more into it.

Penetration correlates to range, there can be maximum penetration cutoffs but in general the closer you are the more penetrtation you get because the muzzle velocity is higher.

Penetration figures can vary quite a lot because people tend to mix up what type of steel the shot is being fired at, the angle its hitting, and also the type of ammunition being fired all of which significatny effect figures. Also, even things like what constitutes a penetration and the weather can effect numbers a little to.
