Long Range Heavy/Medium/Light Bombers

Being the Horrible ground targets that they are (ie wellington on breakthrough, bombing the reich), they would be much more useful if they all spawned like the betty on midway, in midflight. In the sense that they are coming from off map, you would be utilizing their main advantage, long distance. Spawning once every 5 or so minutes, or whenever depending on the model and its use during that battle.

Requests

*Lancaster (Britain)
9,000 kg bomb load

*B24 Liberator (America)
5,400 kg bomb load

*Heinkel 111 (Germany)-----already in?
1,000 kg bomb load

*Junkers 88 (Germany)------already in?
2,700 kg bomb load

*Petlyakov 2 (Russia)
1,000 kg bomb load

*Ilyushin 4 (Russia)
1,300 kg bomb load

*Mitsubishi Ki-21 "Sally" (japan)
900 kg bomb load

Hope to see more of them on the battlefield.

I don't know what you read, but he's talking about spawning the bombers in the sky.. I don't think its a very good idea.. We don't have airports in britain for nothing.

my only request would be to move the bombers and fighters to seperate airfields and put the fighters on grass airstrips.

one of the things that kinda ate away at me is the fact that the betty only has four bombs. And i thought why would a stuka be able to carry the same size bomb load. It is because the trade off is whith the bombers need to carry excessive amounts of fuel so that it can fly from a behind the lines base and go ahead of the lines and back again. taking off from a forward base just looks wrong too.

I think it would be a good idea, it would look more like a formation anyway, if you found out a way to spawn in air with out going through the massive drop.

Well, he obviously listed the bombers he'd like to see in the mod and for them to spawn in flight.

I pointed out that the Lancaster is already in with JU88 and HE111.

Even on the largest size map that can be done with this engine wouldn't be able to do it justice.

They used P51's in the pacific but P47D's and N's were more numerous.

Do you have any numbers to support that?

IIRC Saipan, and Ie Shima, had mostly P-47 squadrons while Iwo Jima had mostly P-51 squadrons. Both were stationed on Okinawa.

CBI got most of the Allison engined P-51A's and the P-47 arrived in April of 1944.

Here's links that I have
