Omfg, enemy plane!?! where!?

Yesterday i was lagging so much when trying to actively play on breaktrough that i took up the duty on me to defend the Allied base against strafing planes.

i shot down numorous planes with my kickass bofor.. but there was one plane that always kept evading me. I heard the damn thing but could never see it, untill today i guessed it was a Junkers flying circles around the map, so high that i couldnt see it.

Today i wanted to see the pink king tiger for myself, so i started a LAN game and made it spawn. then suddenly when i got back at the allied base (looking for a deployable MG) i heard a plane. The same one as the day before, and since i was on a LAN all by myself..

Seriously Dev's, its a nice idea to try and add some atmosphere to the map but not like this. Im sorry to say but its stupid, it may not bother the player out in the field but for the dedicated AA gunner it kills. I dont know about the rest of you but i rely heavily on sound when manning AA, chances still are you will hear a plane before you see it. I could try and ignore it, but the *loud* sound of a phantom plane flying over kills the sound of any other REAL plane coming near me.

I suggest taking this sound out, its sort of stupid. Imagine making atmospheric sounds of tanks driving. Equally silly as I for one rely heavy on sound when playing..

I remember that. I ran into a tent to hide from it.

Stupid? I think its awesome. On my clans server last night it was funny to see the 5 of us on the airfield start to scramble when we heard the "plane" coming. I love the sound, add more if possible.

Yeah I think it's a V-1 as well. I think it's kind of cool.

Reminds me of some new DoD maps (like Flugplatz) which have aircraft flying overhead with lots of sound.

Sure, it's atmospheric, but there's no plane, nothing to shoot down, just a sound.

The AA will probably always be looking for this phantom sound and miss actual German planes coming in. It's just a useless effect that distracts and confuses.

It's like having loud tank sounds in a random area of a map. You think a tank is around, so you hide, but the tank never comes. It might be atmospheric, but nothing should distract you from actual threats in the game.

Well the ears are only your first warning so unless you are trying to aim the flak gun by hearing alone, this shouldn't have a major impact. Scan the sky with your eyes, since ultimately you are going to have to aim it at them to be of any use anyhow. So if you turn around to the sound of a plane and there isn't one there, you better keep turning that gun or I'ma strafe the shit out of you.

I love the ambient sounds.
The maps that have the gunfire and explosions in the background blend in PERFECTLY with the action. I don't care if it's distracting. I'd rather fight in a loud, confusing battle, than a errily quiet one where you can hear exactly where each gunshot is coming from.

I'd like to have it in every map, but unique for every map, to suit the weapons and vehicles in that map. (eg. PPsH spray in eastern front maps, Tommy fire in western and pacific).

Now thats what i mean, after a while of course i will know the atmos sound is there and will try to ignore it. HOWEVER it will make it unable for me to hear the plane that is coming in.

That might be exiting for you guys as you take off with your planes and drive your tin cans around the battlefield. But for me as AA guy its a freaking pain.
For the love of god remove the airplane sounds from the map or at least take them away from the airfield. Because if it stays you guys might not have a plane to take off with as the me262 comes in and strafes all our precious birds. wich i could have avoided if i could only have heard the damn plane.
