PBY Catalina Are we ever going to see the famous PBY Catalina flying boat? This would kick ass at midway, and maybe even Atlantic. They could be armed with 4 500 lb bombs, or a number of depth charges to sink subs. you could either build a dock for it, or make it a mobile SP like the Betty. The British also had a very large flying boat used to sink subs and cruisers, but I cant remember the name. mondo, job opportunity |
Re: PBY Catalina post any scrennie man! |
Re: PBY Catalina www.google.com Anyway I think it would be a good addition to Midway too, it was crucial to find ships and in game it can be used as an artillery spotter removing the swordfish on the PoW and I guess it can be used as a bomber or depth charger bomber (I really like the second one :) )... |
Re: PBY Catalina The British flying boat your refering to is called the Sunderland. |
Re: PBY Catalina There were some threads a while back about it, it was used by the 3 main western allied nations, US, Canada, Britain, and it saw action in the Atlantic and Pacific I think it should definitely go in as well. |
Re: PBY Catalina Lobo is working on one (or perhaps it's already finished). You'll see it one day, but probably not in 0.65. And it's been suggested before... |
Re: PBY Catalina It would be pretty neat to see. I got the chance to visit the Naval Air Museum this summer in Pensacol, Fl and saw 1. They also had a cut-away version of the fuselage. I tell you, that's one cramped thing. But it was really impressive, had its own little kitchen area and bunks and all. It was like a Flying-RV. Anyways, sorry about the semi-OT, it would be a pretty cool addition. If the Storch gets in, I say why not the PBY |
