if u want big maps u need more transportation... i dont want to be running around from one end to the other end just to get killed, or just waist time waiting for a jeep etc. to spawn..
u prolly hate the best map ever (prokhorkova) too, dont ya? walking is good for u. besides, the maker of map says how long it takes for shit to spawn...
Pacific theatre does suck. The two boats and an island thing really needs to stop. Wake Island, Saipan, Makin, Midway. How many times do I have to play the same bloody map with a different island. Make maps that are full sized will prevent wandering off. How many people do you see wandering on Kursk?
i think THE WHOLE pasific campgian needs 2 be reworked i hate pasific maps i refuse to play them i leave the server, they need to change the whole fighting style the japs didnt fight like the jerries, so playing pasific maps should be diffent
the pacific is my second favorite front, and these changes are really necessary.
on an afterthought, is it possible to code arresting hooks on carriers? i actually land on the decks sometimes, only to have to back-taxi for half an hour. would be kinda nice.
the japs maps need enlarging and way more WELL placed MG nests, tank traps and artillery. They were defensive since the loss at Midway so why do they have no good defensive positions. Iwo is way to small. The island was 4 square miles. Wake is boring for the japs since the beach always camped by the flak and MG gunners and if you land the betty at the arifield youre usually hit by a wave of thompsons. Guadalcanal is ok but it need to be less hilly and more foresty. Philippines i dunno cause i dont know what that was like. Midway needs a better BF naval code to be fun.

Well, I like the Pacific theatre a lot. Naval surface combat between battleships sucks a bit because the fog prevents realistic long range ship shooting. But the destroyers and PT boats are fine, since they fought at close range anyway.
Midway should be enlarged, I agree with that. Take out the Prince of Wales since there were no Allied battleships at Midway. To compensate, take out the Yamato as well, and give the Japanese a second carrier instead. If enlarging the island leaves little room to move the big ships, that's OK. The carriers could be fixed in place so they can't move. Also the carriers will have to be sunk by aircraft, as it was historically. There will still be destroyers for people who like the ship-to-ship fighting.
i like pacific too, saipan is always fun, imo well balanced, both teams have good chances to win with teamplay, and u never can take a break there, thers always 1 flag right now turning grey.... i like to take the torpedoboat and drive to the u.s.-carrier... although u need to drive 2 times u can sink the carrier easily when approaching it from his "6" no1 ever shot me in my torpedoboat, maybe i was lucky, maybe no1 saw my tiny boat as a worthy target
what the pacific theater needs as mentioned above ist better defensive positions for the japanese, and take away the sherman, it was rarely used, u.s. had m3 (i think, this light crappy thing). even if the sherman was used, its too strong vs. the jap so-called tanks which makes gameplay a little unbalanced.
in general the bf1942-engine has some limits we have to live with, so lets wait for bf2 next year and make fh on that new engine, then we can have BIG maps with trees and stuff
ahem, i hope you mean a Patrol Boat. the sherman was used sometimes, i know it saw action on saipan and iwo jima, and okinawa. nothing after around july 1944, thats when the us govn't declared it obsolete.
saipan in annoyingly small, with those battleship guns never being put to use. for shame. i prefer makin.
