New Map- German Secret Base
 

Hey All, I was thinking, why not make a map that incorperated both the V2 rocket model that has already been made ( http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/vehicles/V_bombs.jpg )and the HE 162 jet fighter plane ( http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com/vehicles/german/he162.jpg ) model. We could make the map a secret German base, that has a large underground central tunnel on the hill next to the side of a mountain. The large tunnel would be a plane hanger for the HE162's, but there also would be a few large rooms on each side. Some of these rooms would have caches of Germans guns, and the other rooms would have V2 lanching pads. The V2's would come out of the sides of the hills, and you could open a metal door on the top side of the hill to expose the missles for launching. The Hill itself would be protected from advancing infantry by two large cement structures with gun emplacements and two sandbag protected machine guns. The Hill would also be protected from allied aircraft and tanks due to its two flak 88 guns on top of the cement structures.

Now, the Allies would start off comming out of a forest, and they would have set up camp with a few tents. They would be equipt with 4 shermans, a large sherman, a priest and 2 troop transporters.It would be their task to destroy the flak 88's and the German machine guns, then capture the base before the krauts launch their V2's and destroy stuff.

This is a rough idea but I think if the FH team looked into it we could make a really fun and popular map :smokin:

Sounds a lot like that map outta rtcw with caves etc. This idea is ok compared to other ideas i've heard lately but heres a few problems

1) this is a realism mod so no fake battles plz

2)those models shown are very old and probably getting re done

3)Theres still real maps missing such as all french and italian maps! not to mention other important battles

4)if you want "what if" scenario maps theres Alpenfestung

5)This map would require time, lots of it.Fh team will spend that time on stuff 100000000 times better.

Yeah Al Capone I realize the FH team is really busy right about now. However the map isn't too unrealistic, there were German V2 bases in France in 1944 that were captured by allied forces. The bases were in hills and they were equipt with some airplanes that defended them, not to mention AA and machine gun emplacements.The map was just a thought :) . I hope we could have some maps with V1/V2 in the future though :smokin: And Meadow was that comment nessasary?

don't get me wrong it's an ok idea but maybe not just now.Also there was a map for fh 0.5 called Giza that had awesome v1 rockets on it.Wonder what happened to that since it's not been converted to 0.61

It was necessary, because RCTW has exactly what you're looking for! I was suggesting a game that has the kind of game style you want, why is that so wrong?

How the hell do you know what I want? Thats kinda creepy there Meadow :uhoh: ! I like realism alot, I just thought perhapes a cool map that was slightly realistic (there were underground V2 factories with bunkers, AA and planes protecting them) would be a change from the usual major battles.

Raid on Pennemunde? Unarmed German rocket scientests get bombed by Brittish planes? That at least happened.
