Japanese vs British?? WHY NOT?...Japanese paras

Why are all the Japanese maps only featuring the Americans??

A considerable amount of Japanese battles were fought against the British and Australians!

How about some maps like....

Invasion of Singapore (could have urban/tropical, with beach landing by Japanese).

Invasion of Hong Kong (have a harbor and urban setting, again, with buildings borrowed from maps like Berlin).

Dutch East Indies; this campaign involved Dutch, British, American, and Japanese.
It was one of the major campaigns in which the Japanese employed paratroopers.
You could have a Dutch East Indies map with chains of islands defended by the British, British planes (Hurricanes), give the Japanese a carrier, a destroyer or two, give the British one destroyer, and also give the Japanese a small island ala Crete invasion where they can load up their paratroopers.

I agree, Burma fighting through thick Vietnam like jungles would be awesome. I wish you'd record some Scottish voice commands for the Black Watch.

We never got to Japan! We dicided not to invade Japan on the grounds that if we did we would have to kill em all, and we knew it, so we chose not to invade Japanese homeland and sertanly not HongKong! THATS IT JAPAN! Singnapore is in China. Do your homwork!

I would love to see the Australians though...probably because I basically know NOTHING about their battles against the Japs.

Sounds educational. I wonder if Canadians ever fought the Japs. I mean they did have the 3rd largest navy at the end of WWII so maybe they fought the japs a little? Dunno..

Brits, Aussies, New Zealanders, Indians, Gurka's and even volunteer Asians fought the Japanese in Singapore, Hong Kong and Burma.

Hong Kong is part of China, you are thinking of TAIWAN.

Oh yeah, that's right. I think it started the day after Pearl Harbor (Dec 8th). Although the canadians got their ass kicked because they were overruned by the Japs and the Japs took them in prison camps where more canadians died in the prisons because of malnutrition than soldiers that died in the actual battlefield.

Other than Hong Kong, did the Canadians fight the Japs?

I'd like to see this jungle Carbine.

4Fingers June 16th, 2004 04:57 AM

Re: Japanese vs British?? WHY NOT?...Japanese paras

If I remember myself properly,I think the developers presented a Jungle-Rifle on the homepage once.
I think it was a Jungle-Thompson or a Carbine, but for the British troops, not the Americans.
Either this weapon was on the homepage or some develper announced it here in the Forum,I don't know it exactly anymore.
Well I think that we all can expect some maps featuring the Brits in the Pacific theatre in some version in the future.I would welcome it and I think a lot of others aswell.
As the other people have already mentioned,it would be cool to see a Burma,a Singapore map (Urban battle),or maybe even a map located in the jungle of Thailand featuring the British.

Errr, dude, go back to CS buddy.

Hong Kong is an idland of Guangzong (sp?) provence in CHINA, Singapore is a country within itself and is on the sounthern tip of MALAYSIA, "we" did not invade japan because "we" knew that the casualties would be to high ON BOTH SIDES. I suggest you do YOUR homework and go back to studying AWP whoring =/.

I agree, a Burma map d be great. Someone should make a Burmaroad battle. Maybe dated in march 42, after the fall of singapore.
But also the fall of singapore would be a great map.

So anyone should go a head and make on. :D

I think that this theater needs four things:

1. Brittish, and Chinese added into this part of the game.

2. More of the weapons used in this front, Type-44, Johnson Rifle, Grease Gun, Type-100 SMG, and so on.

3. redo the fallowing maps:

Midway, that Island was bigger than that. With with two carriers per side and torpedo bombers, and planes.

Guadalcanal, needs those cool Vine covered trees from DICE used in the Phillipenes, and bushes, and Pistol pete, with Japanese AT guns, and a true Beach assault like it was, not set in the midle of the battle.

4. More Torpedo bombers, and ships on the island maps, and AT guns for the Japs, and US forces that they did use.

Re: Japanese vs British?? WHY NOT?...Japanese paras

Redoing maps is a good point. Afaik there was no fighting on midway itself. Just the sea battle...

oh oh, the japs had 4 carriers at midway, 3 normal, 1 escort. the us had 3.

Lachrymology June 16th, 2004 09:51 AM

Re: Japanese vs British?? WHY NOT?...Japanese paras

But the japs did a major mistake with their planes while the us-planes were on the way to destroy the carriers.

Xenomorph June 16th, 2004 10:57 AM

Re: Japanese vs British?? WHY NOT?...Japanese paras

The Americans sent torpedo bombers and dive bombers at the Jap carriers. Because the dive bombers had to climb to altitude, the torpedo bombers got to the carriers first. They were then ripped apart by the Japanese fighters. However, because all the jap fighters were close to sea level in order to engage our torpedo bombers, they weren't able to get to altitude in time to engage the dive bombers, and the dive bombers were then able to drop their payloads. Essentially, the torpedo bombers sacrificed themselves so that the dive bombers could get through, though I am quite certain that was not the original intent. Thus we destroyed all four of their carriers, and they critically damaged one of ours, the USS Lexington. It survived the battle, but was so badly damaged they deemed it unsalvageable given the current state of the war (not enough time or available manpower) and so they evacuated it and purposely sank it. Additionally every single Japanese aircraft in Midway was destroyed, while almost all of their pilots (which included many of their most experienced ones) were killed.

Please can we get back on topic?

Anywho, I'd really like some Scottish accented voice commands for this theatre. The Black Watch, Britains finest Celtic Regiment fought sucessfully in Burma.
