What does Halloween mean to you?

We all have different ideas of what Halloween is. For children ages 4-12 its purely candy. 13-14 your getting a little too cool for it, 36-80 your handing out candy, 15-35 the girls are "sluting it up" and the guys are drooling. Ohhhh I can see the thongs now.

So what does Halloween mean to you?

For 4 years in a row through high school, my friends and family built a HUGE display in our yard and made it into an interactive experience where people had to go down this long hill to get there candy. They would head down the hill and get scared all along the way.

The basic display contained about 60-70 handmade tombstones, tons of props, spider webs, and fabricated wrought iron fencing. We had guys popping out of wooden coffins, ghosts flying on ziplines, mad woodsmen with chain saws, a dungeon, the whole chibang.

So with that kind of history, dressing up and scaring the shit out of people is what Halloween means to me. That and partying of course.

Right now I'm back at it again, building a haunted house in my friend's basement. I've got lots of friends helping, but because we're all so busy it's been hard to get it organized. Hopefully we can pull it off! I'll get pictures when it's all completed later this week.

The display cost probably about 200 bucks each year, but because we did it consecutive years, we basically just kept adding on stuff, so by the end we had a ton of things to work with.

I lived in a regular subdivision, with a yard all around my house. Probably about 40 yards down the hill or so. Nothing huge, but that's perfect for what we needed it for.

Well we dont do it anymore at my house because everyone graduated. All the stuff is still there though...

To me, Hallowe'en means, and has meant for about 5 years now, exams. Particularly this year. Exams on the 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th. Yes, the 7th. A Saturday.

Now, Halloween is scary movies. And going to parties and getting wasted along with sluts in costumes. Pretty much thats it.
