Way to make a story for oneself.
It was a fun read, but the truthfulness is something I won't vouch for. ^^

A good friend of mine, whom I went to school with has made his Ph.D. at CERN and through him I know a few people working there.

The machine is just pure awesomeness when you see the scale and complexity. It would have been a miracle if it would have run on the first try. I mean they are working with cryogenic temperatures AND the most powerful/complex electrical systems (magnets, high energy particle beams and whatnot) there.

The detector alone makes you feel unimportant and small

Dude. I have nothing but science. I'm taking 4 papers at uni this semester, one's Organic Chem, one's Anatomy and Physiology, one's Biochemistry (this is an absolute killer), and one's Physics. And I really need an A+ across all 4 to get into the course I want. You think you have it hard...

I take Political Science courses mwhahaha. I have a second part of a midterm today in Comparative politics. Where we have to discuss similarities between france, britian and german governments. No discussion of the US allowed.

I study english at university.
It had potential, but we focus too much on the linguistic part of it, like syntax, phonetic and whatnot. Its boring.
I hoped to become better at english, and that we would learn to speak and write english, not learn everything BEHIND the language...
