| As I recall, they stopped because the building they shot in (it wasn't a set, it was an actual house) burned down in a fire o_O

| Manuel! 'He's from Barcelona.' Classic show, but the... shall we say 'dated' attitudes to the Spanish make Manuel gags a little tainted these days. Nevertheless, there's never anything offensive to Spanish people as a whole (with the possible exception of 'Do you have rats in Spain or did Franco have them all shot?'), it's just general 'baha, foreigners not getting it' stuff, which when you consider the light in which it was meant, isn't very offensive.

| They stopped because they wanted to, and the building burned down much later. It also just acted as an exterior, the interior was a BBC stage (quite obviously) so I bet that if they wanted to they could just have continued and re-used exterior shots were needed among other possible solutions. |

| Congrats Jum, Now that you wield such excesses of power above us lowly remnants of the FH flock, I am curious to find out whether you will elucidate us further as to your identity. I recall a long standing joke that people wanted to know how old you are, so why not start there? "I will tell you mine, if you tell me yours"

| In Spain Monty Python were not so popular like in other countries, except their most famous movies like Brian's Life and so on. To be honest Monty Python are only fun in original version, and in Spain the movies are always dubbed. I think I watched Brian's Life dubbed and it was meh, later I did in original version with subtitles and I laughed my ass off. Yes, I have checked in wikipedia and as not spanish he does a great job anyways, but his accent has a very slight leaning to mexican |

I'm happy that here we don't dub (except programs for little kids). Interviews for the news, movies, films, series, all in the orignal language. Dubbing costs money, time, it often kills humour and jokes in movies and in news items such as interviews you may kill part of the meaning of the interviewed. Atleast with subtitles people may be able to understand the original text, the speaker and verify the quality of the translation (which sometimes can be off, especially when sentences can have double meaning or have to be shortend to stay in sync with the images). |
