Default "9-1-1? I'm reporting a missing...."

....Orange Juice!" Guy calls 911 to complain about McDonald's leaving the OJ out of his McBreakfast: Aloha man calls 9-1-1 over botched fast-food order – OregonLive.com

I can hear it now:

"Yes, that's right, officer. I turned around, and my orange juice was just....gone! It was supposed to include an orange juice in my order, and it's... missing! Please find my orange juice! It's so tiny and cold!"

There may be some slack to cut the guy, since he's not a good English speaker, but calling 911? I dunno.

One thing's for certain: I don't see guys who call the police to ask for help about their missing oj being the kind of guys who in the 1840's struck out from St. Louis and survived crossing the Great Plains:
Hello! Hello! Police? I'd like to complain about vandalism and a theft....Yeah that's right....Well, first they vandalized my right lung. The little shits broke a 6" flint lance-head off in me. No telling how much that'll be to get fixed...The theft? Some others sneaked up while I was trying to patch my lung, and they just stole the hell outta my scalp! Broad daylight! Grab, slice, tug - goodbye hair, hello Baldy! Little thugs just laughed!...So what are you gonna do about it, huh?...You bet I want to make a complaint! I'll be right here at Mile 58 of The Oregon Trail, a little place called Bloody Springs...I don't care how long it takes - I'm not going anywhere. Just look for me under the big pile of stones with a broken lance shaft sticking in it....
Nah, not the Manifest Destiny type.

Oh gosh. Only in America.

It's like that lady who called 911 because she couldn't get chicken nuggets. But this is worse...

Wait a minute there Mr. Ped. The OJ man is named "Raibin Raof Osman", pictured here:
Spoiler:

He is quoted as saying that part of the reason he called police was that he was upset that McDonald's employees "made fun of my brother for not speaking English well." Plus, when the law came and the deputies tried to explain that calling 911 for a missing OJ is not an appropriiate use of the emergency service, he copped an attitude and tried to tell them he had the right of free speech to use 911 for anything he wanted to.

Okay, let's review:
1) A Middle Eastern name
2) Middle Eastern appearance
3) Brother (perhaps Mr. Osman as well) doesn't speak English well
4) A complete ignorance of what to use 911 for
5) When being given a break by law enforcement, cops an attitude, says he'll use 911 for whatever he wishes, thereby turning a warning into a guaranteed arrest.

This guy does not get it about life in the US. Or if he dioes, is comtemptuous of "the American way". All evidence considered, Mr. Osman, also known as "The Defendant", is likely not a citizen of the US.

Hey, have I given you your beating yet? You're due to get one you know.

I dunno, if someone stole something from me I'd probably call the police too. Especially if the motive of the crime was hatred of foreigners or racism as it was the case here.

Of course you don't have to use the emergency line in such a case.

So? He shouldn't get laughed at, but calling 911 over verbal abuse isn't really effective use of the country's emergency services.

Ah. yes. The American way. He obviously knows enough about America to know that they have human rights. And how is calling 911 because of theft contemptuous of America?

You miss my point: The name and the fact of what he claims is his brother's difficulty with English points toward non-citizenship. Of course it's not conclusive, but it's the only evidence at all, and it points to him not being American. The thing about yelling at the brother yadda yadda, what the hell? We don't even know if it happened. It has nothing to do with anything anyway, other than it is the basis for him saying his brother didn't speak English well.

Even if there can be found those idiot Americans who call 911 because their lives are too difficult or their coffee is cold, NO American (at least no American not dying to get back into jail to visit all his friends) gives crap to a cop when he's screwed up, especially when the cop is trying to cut him some slack for screwing up. Sorry, never happen.

And what is contemptuous (and also shows an appalling ignorance of American customs, mores and law) is his hectoring the cops about what his rights are and how he by God will call 911 any time he feels like it.

I think most Americans over 16 know that the way this guy acted is the way you act when you want to get thrown under the jail.

LOL Jum that just made my day.

And yes I agree this behavior suggests that he's new to the country and doesn't fully realize what calling 911 completely entails... unless it was a prank there aren't too many people in the US who know what 911 is for that would actually do this.
