Things are quiet... too quiet.

So, gentlemen, I think we need to have a discussion. This forum lately has been far too inactive in the last few days.

What are we going to do about it? It seems that we've tirelessly discussed so many things that we leave very little to say. I believe this is an issue of the utmost importance! There must be more to be said!

After all, and let's all be honest here, the posters of this great forum are the intellectual center of Forgotten Hope, and in essence, provide its heart and soul. If we are to fall silent what is to come of all that is FH? For the sake of the mod, we must keep active! Our wise minds must be constantly flexed in new and creative ways -- the fate of FH depends upon it!

Can I get a huzzah?

Re: Things are quiet... too quiet.

For the last couple of days, it has been impossible for me to do anything other than view the topics listed on the main page.

My guess is that the FF upgrade still has some tweaks to work out before we can get back to our routine.

I have my fingers crossed that we get shit going because I find that WarumDarum forums are "a little too douche-like" as the veterans of FH seem to run rampant over the new guys. The new guys don't stick around either when their questions get trashed by the spammers who knew the answer anyways but only wanted to dogpile on the Original poster instead.

Yea that's probably the main cause... this site has been having lots of issues and I guess I've been lucky up till today and have been able to get on almost all of the time.

I guess it might just be a false alarm. Either way, it's good for us to drill ourselves on these kinds of emergencies!

Huzzah! I'm in for the first time in 3 days! I couldn't do it by my bookmarks though - I had to come in "clean" by Googling up FF and then working down the index. But pages opened so s.....l.....o.....w....l.....y. Anyway, I'm going to re-bookmark and see if that cements my access or if I'm going to be cast adrift again for days.

Yeah, I just got in as well, I guess its at least slightly fixed now o_O Hopefully, the server change will be completed shortly. Oddly though, I've had no problem accessing the FF Pub forum area, just FHOT has been showing up as an error....

The forums were moved to a new server, maybe that is what caused the problems.

Very slowly we're becoming mere tools of corporate business it seems...

Those are ninja ads. They appear everywhere and it seems to be legal. I'm seeing them more and more also on other sites.

Re: Things are quiet... too quiet.

We'll just have to keep ahead of them with euphemisms, e.g. Taking care of "bees knees".

edit: okay, I guess technically that should be "synonyms and homonyms" as well.

It should only be a temporary solution, it was introduced shortly after Filefront regained it's indepance (from ZiffDavis).

Stemt op de lijst der SocDemArbPartij (Sociaal Democratische Arbeiders Partij = Social Democratic Labour Party)!

That party used to be alright back in the day but in recent years they moved a bit to the right (much like British Labour Party I guess). I think I'll vote SP (Sociaalistische Partij) or GroenLinks (GreenLeft) in the upcomming EU Parliamentary elections.

It would be nice if we finally get get a more transparant, democratoc parliament but all those countries are too sensitive about loosing power so I'd hold my breath. I think people have been demanding the same thing for some time now and I have seen very little progress.

The "Aye, we must make the EU more democratic, but thou shall not touch my current powers" is just... funny... pathetic actually.

Because you don't check the announcement forum or forum wide announcement (at the top of every forum page) often enough? =p

The only Forum-wide announcement I can see is the one by Dread saying there was nothing to see...

The problem is that I didn't notice any change.
