Temora Air Show Just a bit of an image dump of an airshow I went to on the weekend for your enjoyment. A few clips of the planes in action: YouTube - Temora Airshow 11/4/09 http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...MissingMan.jpg The tribute to Tom Moon (a pilot who died in an accident earlier this year), a missing-man formation with the Spitfire, Harvard, Wirraway, and Boomerang (didn't get a clear picture of the Boomerang breaking off, which is a shame). The most amazing minute's silence I've ever witnessed. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...omrade/DC3.jpg The DC-3 strutting its stuff. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Boomerang.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...Boomerang3.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...Boomerang2.jpg Spitfire XVI and CA13 Boomerang getting ready for their displays. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...e/Wirraway.jpg Wirraway ready to move onto the taxiway. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...wayHarvard.jpg A flyby (with smoke!) of the Wirraway and Harvard. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...XVIStartup.jpg Spitfire startup. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...tBoomerang.jpg The stars of the show. Damn that Boomerang can do some amazing aerobatics. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../HudsonL12.jpg Lockheed 12 and Hudson in formation. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...MeteorF8-3.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...MeteorF8-2.jpg Meteor F8, one of my favourites just for the sound. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...pireMeteor.jpg And now with 100% more de Havilland Vampire. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Boomrang2.jpg And one last pic of the Boomerang before the dash back to the car (everyone else was busy with the Spitfire, so I got a good pic of the other planes). Thunderstorms let loose about 5 mins after the final display, which was lucky. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...e/MeteorF8.jpg My new desktop pic - a shot of the Meteor having just taxied back to the ramp with the impending thunderstorms in the background. |
Re: Temora Air Show Nice pics, this was in Oz I presume? Are the planes privately owned or are they part of some museum collection or collector's groups. I guess the climate is conducive to keepin the planes in good shape because they all look to be well kept. I am always on parade when I see nice flypasts so I never get a chance to take any pictures. |
Re: Temora Air Show Holy crap a real live Boomerang!!! I didnt think any were still flyable. Nice pic of the Whirraway too! And a Meteor and a DeHavilland Vampire?!?! Nice airshow. |

This is indeed in Oz, about 4 hours drive from where I live. From what I know, most are owned by the museum but they often have privately owned/collectors aircraft on display (i.e. the Super Constellation that made an appearance). Quote:
