ahh i cant believe im getting into this discussion but , i never saw a gun in the 27 years i live on this planet in real life.

instead of using supa armed police and death penalty , it might help fixing the root of the problem

There is no "solution" to crime. If someone wants to commit a crime there gonna commit a crime. Good luck stopping them. What you don't understand is people that commit crimes with guns are, committing a crime. Its a purposeful crime. Meaning, no matter what, banned guns or legal guns, they ARE going to commit the crime.

Laws do not tell someone how they will act, they tell somehow how they should act. If you think otherwise your mistaken. Going by today's standards, the word "law" means as stated above.

In the end people will do what they want, when they want, how they want and anyway they want. Oh and may I add, they will do all of the above anywhere in the world. Any state, any country and town any city etc.

And Lobo, I'm sorry, but the half baked Police in Europe are a river of fish being washed up onto the hard, cold, jagged rocks. When your job is to protect citizens, its best and only proper to be armed with more then a tall hat and a billy club. Maybe the problem is the Euro police forces can't be trusted with weaponry.

Which is why I said it would obviously be better if guns were banned so the victim could have been stabbed instead of shot. That way, guns wouldn't have been involved.

Meh, guns are the great equalizer of society, forcing everyone onto an equal playing field of lethality. Being big and strong will not allow you to oppress others since a sickly, one-eyed grandma can kill you just as easily as you can kill her.

Nukes play the same role for countries. A country can have a massive, powerful army, but could be destroyed by a third world nation with nukes.

You wouldn't want to give a nutty country nukes, just as you wouldnt want to give a nutty man a gun. Sometimes, they get them anyways. With this in mind, you wouldn't want your country to be stripped of nukes, because of the MAD (mutually assured destruction) aspect that protects the people in your country, just as you wouldn't want to be stripped of a gun, because of the MAD aspect that protects yourself.

However, the difference is that people can stay out of each others way, while countries cant, which is why we better start colonizing other planets before some country goes postal.

As it stands, guns are not Britains most pressing crime problem. Because they have to be illegally imported from eastern europe, they are not all that widespread (mainly in the hands of inner city gangs) comared to knives. Knives are they real killers here, and because of that there are no police on the street who are not in stab vests.

I must admit that armed police scare me. Because they mainly inhabit airports and whitehall, I luckly don't have to spend too much time around them. But there are murmurs around that the police in the worst places may end up being aremed like those in Northern Ireland.

I think taking legal guns away from americans might seem to work on paper, it won't. The reason why I think this is simple: the society is drenched with firearms and criminals are about as likely to take part in a gun amnesty as a politician is to tell the truth.

d) You silly man...The police in the USA are not obligated to protect the people. As far as the law is concerned you are on your own. Cops are great..Hell my old man was a cop...They can't be everywhere all the time though.

e) I agree...Hell it would have made things so much more easy and peaceful for Franco to just have steamrolled over those silly civilians had they not had guns. And the nerve of those jews in Warsaw!
