You guys are missing an important point. The movie was starring Brad Pitt, so it pissed off the guy and made the family lose interest and talk.

Blame Hollywood. =p

No, he should have tried to talk to people to get them to be quiet and if that wouldn't work he could always get some cinema employees to talk to the people or remove them from the cinema.

I don't even understand why someone would need to have a gun on him, let alone in a cinema.
