We thank everybody for their support in the last three years. This especially goes out to our former members, cooperating mod teams and of course to you, the fans. Without all your help, BGF would have never made it to its first release.

All the work we have done is fortunately not lost – our parent mod, Battlegroup 42 (for Battlefield 1942), already includes a lot of our content and will also feature many things you have seen here on the news page which didn’t make it into the last BGF build.

Sincerely,
Your BattleGroup-Frontlines Team

.. sad but imo, they should have teamed up long time ago...

But now its time for FH2 team to start recruit them... they sure did some fantastic statics and models... hope they wanna come over to the bright side

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Whoa, did not see that one coming

Yeah, hope the FH2 devs are quick to recruit them

Re: BGF2 signing out!

We had so much cool stuff. I'm glad BG42 is going to use it at least.

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Does anyone actually play BG42? I used to play it back before FH gained the foothold in BF42. And it was a great mod.

I liked BGF, the beta build they released was far better than the first release and it is a shame to see the mod quit. But to be honest, what is the point continuing if no one plays? Yeah? I thought so.

While I would hope those talented devs who'd like to apply to FH2 and maybe even bring some of the content with them. That would speed up the progress for FH2 aswell and it would benefit those devs of BGF who wanted to create something and get it out there for the players, and FH2 is short of men power. Of course, this might sound very rude and selfish thinking coming from a FH2 tester but still, I would hope for them to join FH2 team with or without content. At least FH2 would gain the much needed help from such talented devs.

Re: BGF2 signing out!

But what if they quit developing it because of social stuff? If not, I sure hope they will ask if they can join the making of FH2.

Yeah I hope the remaining BGF-Devs join the FH2 team. They could be the East-Front-Division of the FH2 team

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Sad News, but I hope the devs can still make something with their stuff, as example with joining another mod-team.

Ronin Pedroshin November 17th, 2008 12:58 PM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Hmm I'm also interested in whether FH2 will try to recruit them? I think it would benefit FH2 a lot and give them (the BGF2) new chances (if the reason they broke up wasn't due to not being available to mod anymore).

Re: BGF2 signing out!

:moved: from FH:GD to OT.

Wow, that really sucks. :(

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Sad news, but I kinda saw it coming. There just aren't enough BF2 mod players to go around. :/

DJBarney November 17th, 2008 02:10 PM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

I remember someone on the BFSP forums saying that they were trying to recruit more members a while back.

I thought the release before the present release was very promising. It had it's own feel with some very heavy feeling tanks and interesting textures. It's a shame it won't get to develop beyond the somewhat different present release.

Your tanks will live on on my harddrive.

(BTW, I play BF1942 regularly ... BG42 and FH 0.7 ... but I also wear top hats and throw my cloak down over puddles for ladies in the street so maybe I'm living in the past :P )

Shit, a good team died.

Its time for contacts, BGF Have very talented guys there, oh apple :(

Lobo or someone must contact them, can speed up the progress alot more!

Re: BGF2 signing out!

I'm sad to hear that but the FH Team could really do with their talents and together this partnership could expand the possibilities of Forgotten Hope 2 even further.

Sir Apple November 20th, 2008 11:16 AM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Well remember some of them (including myself) are already members of other mod teams.

I really don't know what the rest of their plans are. But I wouldn't doubt that some will pitch in for Fh2.

Von Mudra November 20th, 2008 11:19 AM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

They really should be recruited if possible, more help for FH2, the better. Sad to hear about them going, but such is the fate.

Mokusaku November 20th, 2008 01:38 PM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Aww! Such a shame they quit. BGF was one the BF2 mods I had watched for a looong time along FH2. Well I had lots of fun with this mod and I still play SP because tanks are so nicely done. :(

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Damn. I am sorry to hear it. But let's not let this be a total loss. BG42/BGF had a gazillion maps which IMO were varied and interesting, and very different in feel from FH.

Why can't all those who love a WWII fps which tends toward realism while striving for historical accuracy just come together?
It would be a herculean effort at this stage to make things mesh, but what if?

Oh my!

Winston.. err.. jumjum avatar is DEAD.

You killed JumJum!

shhh torenico...it's a freedom crusade

(even if slightly sheeply and with certain lack of sense of humour, something I had never expected from jumjum)

Winston will come back when they get bored or find another creepier avatar.

Sir Apple November 21st, 2008 04:04 AM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Don't worry, Lobo. I have a website bookmarked, which is full of them.

If Jumjum did it, that means your wrong Lobo. You just need to give in, and join us. I'll make you a T-Shirt...

Lobo November 21st, 2008 10:56 AM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

I am sure that jumjum, as old lonewolf, fan of excelence and individuality, hates this (metaphoricaly speaking) youngsters cocksucking, so don't ashame him.

So...If Jumjum did it, that means I am right, they, the neanderthals were buried by the sands of time, meanwhile we, the cromagnons, prevailed

The Ghost of Ronald Reagan Joad

I'll be all around lurking in the dark - I'll be everywhere. Wherever you can look on the forum - wherever there's a fight, so libertarians and conservatives can voice a free thought and not be shouted down, I'll be there. Wherever Lobo is insultin' another guy just because he doesn't agree with him, I'll be there. Wherever the Euros are beatin' up on a Yank simply because he said he didn't agree with socialism, I'll be there. I'll be there in the way guys post when they're mad and tired of being treated as second-class citizens. I'll be there in the way new members laugh when they're hungry for reason and intelligence and they know a new topic is ready, and when the people finally realize they can't buy a million-dollar house if they can't afford it, and that they have to work to be able to buy things they want - I'll be there, too.

So, why did I get rid (temporarily) of a perfectly good avatar of The Greatest Human Being In Modern History and replace it with a dumb little avatar that I actually don't agree with? I'll tell you why:

FREEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!

Hey Apple, you where right. Marauders at Midnight is a freaking awesome map.

Sir Apple November 21st, 2008 11:53 AM

Re: BGF2 signing out!

Yea, its greatness.

Last night me and 3 others played together in a squad for 3 hours. All the maps were 16 player coop maps. Great fun and excellent teamwork.

There are lots of dense maps.

I had a 1 vs 1 with Propaganda this afternoon on MaM, I love it :p Shame the caves go nowhere, cave combat is nice too.
If your with a large group, try Operation Frog.

Honestly boys, the monsters don't go away if you close the eyes, don't say "oh you stubborn eurasians don't know about l'ameriKa" if you want to be taken seriously, it's slightly childish, capisce?

The monsters do go away when you close your eye's. Ignorance really is bliss ... till you dink your head on that low ceiling ;)

Re: BGF2 signing out!

BGF had some great statics, buildings etc for the eastern front (love their crawl inside the hay stack and see out of a shoot out of thing, that was cool :P) Hopefully FH2 can use their statics to help the eastern front pop out a lot quicker, as well as recruit their members :)
