I just saw a screenshot of a roadsign (indicating a cyclinglane) but it uses a modern design. I see a white circle around the edge and the cycle itself seems modern aswell (can't tell from the angle though). Ohwell.

The 30's and 40's design was a bit different, no white border and more detail to the bicycle (IMO better looking due to the higher level of detail).

Edit: WW2 era design.

I threw a grenade at them.

Yes, as far as I can tell most signs are modern but there's also a shell station that uses the old shell logo (without the clam). And one mission takes place in the famous Phillips factory.

Damn it, WW2 era signs ftw, modern signs are crappy.

Any directionsigns? Old style ANWB directionsigns or german ones (as the german occupiers ordered the yellow signs to be placed along main routes):

Example: Signs in Rotterdam WW2:

Baffling. "Fixed" is ROCK steady gun sights ? "Fixed" is space invaders shooting gallery ? "Fixed" is assault teams that just sit where they are because they are never needed, and fire teams that do nothing because you can just pick enemies off like coconuts ?

Baffling ... why is everyone so hot on this game when it completely DUMPS the original concept ? It's like turning Chess into Draughts.

It doesn't dump the original concept, you still have to flank your enemies to progress through the game and you still can't single handedly rambo forward without getting ripped to shreds. BiA's shooting was just broken because you could put 8 full Thompson clips in a visible German head and he would still be standing because you didn't ''suppress'' him enough. They finally fixed this so it's possible with luck to pick of a German in the distance when you aim well enough.

If you like the new BIA HH style of gameplay then great ! I'm just being very pedantic because Ubi / Gearbox at least CLAIM that it's "realistic".

I've never had to put multiple rounds in someone in the first two. They were simply missing. I've heard stories of people in real life emptying entire clips at people point blank and ALL of them missing !

I'd have no problem with HH if it was marketted differently, but it gives the worrying and dangeros impression that WW2 was won by a few wisecracking soldiers with a Bazooka, instead of pure tenacity and a lot of pain. Some of the very hardcore tactics are still taught at West Point 60 years later ... they use an example of an assault on positions on D Day.

Don't be fooled !

Maybe that's what they said, I didn't; I never said this game was more realistic then the earlier BiA's. I simply noted I was glad I can finally shoot down a German from a distance without having to stand 2 feet next to him or sending attack sections to kill them. For others this may be like a flaw, but for me this is a fix.

I don't exactly understand what you mean with this; your saying that it's unrealistic for a single squad to withstand through so many battles?

That maybe so but don't forget this is also a game; events take place and the game expects you to participate in them with the most ideal outcome: you and your squad alive. Fail in that task and you get a restart. If developers didn't do things do like this you'd be playing with a new character every map just for the sake of keeping realistic to the statistic amount of casualties in the war. Developers create a game so it sells the most money; if this requires heroic squads that nail down German platoons after each other and break any form of realism for the sake of good selling they will do this.

looks good ingame and is kind of fun... same gameplay as the first one though, basically charge and shoot like crazy.. the "tactical" side-mechanics are cute but rarely used. You shoot until the germans die..

your team-mates get resurrected if they die, even on hard setting.

some nice stuff to look at.

Too bad there is no (PC) demo out yet which is kinda weird since demos should be out shortly beforeor around the time of a games release...

Regarding the Philips factory. Is it just me or do the trains look fucking ugly and out of place?

^ On this low res screeny they look like german ICE (highspeed train) wagons of poor detail (like an old 2002 era mod...). DO they actually look that bad or is it just the screenie.

vs

I like the B&w photo better. something looks off on the screenshot (and no I'm not talking about the photo and screenshot not being a perfect match). Dunno.
