Ah, it begins at the Democrat National Convention. The clip below is truly frightening, because the people who participate in and/or approve or even see no big deal about this kind of bullying are trying to get their hands on the levers of government. Comforting thought.

Protesters Confront Fox Network : Related : The Rocky Mountain News

This is nothing but Brownshirt behavior. True to their nature, the Churchill SA, realizing they had been caught on camera threatening physical violence in order to control speech, put out an incredibly lame charge that the reporter "laid hands" on Churchill. Yes, and I'm a prima ballerina. If there was any evidence whatsoever of this reporter doing anything intimidating or inappropriate with Churchill it would have blasted across the media-verse by now.

BTW, these are the same people who want to re-establish the ludicrously mis-named "Fairness Doctrine", which supplants the free-market approach to broadcasting that allows the public to choose what it listens to or watches, with governmental rationing of speech in which a bureaucrat determines what the public should hear, whether they want to or not. After watching that clip, don't you feel safe letting them determine what you should hear, see and read?

It turned a smile on my face, though these people went a bit too far , elling a reporter that you don't like his channel and think they ae biased or against you us acceptable but surrounding him and just yelling the same silly line over and over in an intimidating way is said. Not exactly an open free debate/discussion with the reporter. I had to laugh at the sillyness of the whole clip though...

Agreed, the whole clip was quite silly, and because I have a certain disdain for Fox News I did smile at times.

That said, I think they went way overboard here. (Somewhat) Good things not taken in moderation are no longer good. When the mob mentality takes over, who knows what will happen.

That said, I work for a company that provides event security and other things. Theyve flown in guards to supplement our people already there. I was talking over the phone to an ops manager and we got to talking about some of the things going on. In particular a group called recreate 68. Never heard of this group before but they are on a big time watchlist. Check out their calendar of events. He says that there are people that have been staffed 24 hours a day watching various roads. Theyve pulled out countless brinks and weapons stashed in weird places like planters and anything that they thought might still be there. They went ahead and removed all of that stuff. Funny though, wouldnt you think that these people would have been all over the GOP conventions of the past? Rather than the Dem stuff?
