Ah, the distinction. But whatever is said in Hyde Park can be said anywhere in the US, and nobody needs a special place.

Heh. Here's a recreate68 rally:

Spoiler:

Recreate 68 had a permanent encampment in Civic Center Park which they optimistically called “The Festival of Democracy” because they had scheduled a full slate of speakers, performers and musical acts all day every day. But whenever I swung by to check out how the festival was going, the scene inevitably looked like this: a desolate, near-empty amphitheater, with a tiny handful of bored stragglers. Perhaps they should have called it the “Festival of Where Is Everybody?“.

Oh, and for the asshole who neg-repped me last week with the supercilious note, "Triple post", about a thread in which I had indeed triple posted....several days apart: Please note that these posts are some 36 hours apart before you once again jump to a mistaken conclusion based on the belief you are qualified to act as some avenging angel - that's my job. I'd be more than happy to eliminate successive posts if ff didn't have the ridiculous 30-minute limit on editing.

Apparently some anarchists managed to march to a park and get stopped by the police from going anywhere: Pajamas Media » Live from DNC: It’s Zombietime! (Day 2)

Honestly, what a bunch of pussies. Bags of urine, medics... and they are afraid of busting through a line of line of cops? They could have easily done that, but that big scary (and hot looking) female officer held them back for hours? eff that.

Saw a quote where a participant judged the police-to-media-to-protester ratio to be 12:6:1. Heh.

I want to see the pictures, not of some widely-covered event or person, but of the gaggle of photographers circled around them capturing "the truth". I remember a pic of Bill and Hillary on a beach somewhere, during the time of blue dresses and false statements under oath, when the White House staff was spinning a weekend getaway trip as a warm and intimate time of re-commitment and mutual support between the Clintons. They were hugging and arm in arm as they walked barefoot up this deserted beach. Oh, so very sweet. Except that wasn't the way it was. Someone hadn't gone along with the party line and had backed up a few feet to get a shot of the dozens of photogs who were following the CLintons literally a few yards away as they had their "intimate" stroll down the beach.

If I didn't know that politicians and their staffs were honorable people completely above trying to manipulate news and public perceptions, I might get a bit cynical.

It is quite pathetic the way the crazy leftist protesters react when the other side expresses their freedom of speech. Sadly the ACLU would defend these nuts but not the other side.

Out of that I think they mean to let Bush and Cheney to be sued for breaking laws on human rights?

No, not to sue. It refers more to their wet dream of having the World Court in The Hague act as some sort of omnipotent intergalactic justice league where the evil duo will be placed in stocks for all the righteous to come by and stone to death.
