PITTSBURGH (Reuters) - U.S. Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who once sang in jest about bombing Iran, on Tuesday reacted to a report of rising U.S. cigarette exports to the country by saying it may be "a way of killing 'em."
McCain, known for acerbic comments and for sometimes firing verbally from the hip, was responding to a report that U.S. exports to Iran rose tenfold during President George W. Bush's term in office despite hostility between the two states.
A rise in cigarette sales was a big part of that, according to an Associated Press analysis of seven years of U.S. trade figures.
"Maybe that's a way of killing 'em," McCain said to reporters during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh. "I meant that as a joke, as a person who hasn't had a cigarette in 28 years, 29 years," he added, laughing.
He declined further comment on the report.
At a campaign meeting in South Carolina last year the Arizona senator, asked if there is a plan to attack Iran, began his answer with a variation on the lyrics of a well-known pop song, Barbara Ann.
"You know that old Beach Boys song, Bomb Iran?" he said, then sang "Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran" before discussing what he considered Iran's serious threat to Israel and international security.
Tension is high between the two countries over Iran's nuclear program, which Washington says is aimed at making an atomic bomb but Tehran says is for generating energy. There has been media speculation of a possible U.S. or Israeli military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.

Has Obama spearheaded any types of inititiatives I should be aware of? Im more interested in bills or laws that he was responsible for as a Senator, or even City Council type stuff. not the voting record. Im not interested in that. I wanna know how creative he can get. Id also like to know about the initiatives, pass or fail. Serious, honest question, Im not trying to be a douche!!!

I was not going to vote for McCain before but now I am torn. Reagan used to pull the same kinda crap. Since him and Obama are both leftist loons maybe I will just vote for the funny one....

Oooh but you must be, with all of your republican bashing. Im looking to be swayed, convinced, by other Obama fellaters. Maybe he is my guy? Its the only way that I can hire someone, their qualifications. Even Obama's site didnt have anything for me... Lots of Obama has worked toward this, supported that... Obama supporters silence has been deafening on this issue.

C'mon, don't you want change? Don't you want hope? Everybody knows they're good, so why not you, huh? Just wait, I bet Obama comes up with even cooler policies, like changification, and even hopeiness. And then he'll really blow your mind with changey hopeifaction, and hopey changeilliation. You're just an Anti-Changey Hope-Hater, aren't you?

Reason i didnt answer, and no one else for that matter cause i knew what your intensions were.
I could have posted his "qualifications" and you would say oh this is everything? ready to post a list of what McCain has done that is 74897452 times longer cause he has been into politics also 30 years longer.
Or i could post nothing and you would try to claim obama has empty words, or obama supporters know no details about the guy they support so much.

I do these discussions for alot longer then i am on the FH forums, i wont be fooled.

You have to ask yourself what you want a president to do once he is in office rather then trying to break down his past, and see if you would want to have a beer with him.

Obama or McCain could be pornstars, with 5 wives, children on crack burning US flags, never having been into politics while being VIPS in the KKK. If their policies are right and they are good president by doing the most important thing which is good judgement on decisions then who really cares? This is not american idol, this isnt Miss USA nor who is the biggest patriot and has most values, nor is this about who would be the perfect husband or vote for a black or woman just to show they can get elected too.

Ive been pressing it again and again, what is important are their policies, cause thats what they will change, as far as things that are out of their hand to happen they have to show good judgement.

If you take their policies as air, then i cant help that but its all we got, and i hope for you some of McCains policies are air(not true).

Where is the US media trying to inform its citizens of the issues at hand and where the candidates stand on? Video i linked above i see some people trying to say obama flipflops on his iraq policy which still is the same, is that worth talked about? its not even true.
and at debates all they get asked about is their pastors and shit, how can an american citizen without access to the internet have a good view about this whole election?
